Wow. I grew up in Los Angeles in the 80's and 90's. I've been to Knotts it seems like a million times. The train robbery used to be better. They would bust in there screaming and shooting off blanks. It would scare the shit out of us but it was so much fun and entertaining. They've really watered it down. Nothing is fun anymore.

The swaztika in some Native American cultures means peace. It was actually the shoulder patch symbol on the 45th infantry until Hitler's meaning overshadowed it.
@RhettyforHistory
5 жыл бұрын
@Abby Lowe Yes you're correct. It in several cultures. I thought they might have just had it there as a Native American reference since there is a lot of Old West type stuff there. After Hitler the 45th Infantry changed their shoulder patch to the Thunderbirds which is another Native American reference. We still have some armory buildings that have Swaztikas on them and it is by no means a reference to Hitler or white power.

At one time the Calico Mine train was an exact replica of an extinct Disneyland attraction called Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland which later became Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It has since been updated and became it's own thing. It still remains the closest thing to riding an early Disney attraction which is long gone.

Glad you liked Knott's. A little bit of wrestling related info: The Wilderness Dance Hall (red barn near the schoolhouse) was once located in Burbank, California and was the home of wrestling in the Los Angeles area during the 1930s - 1950s. It was owned by J. Jeffries a former pro boxer. Wrestlers like Gorgeous George and Strangler Lewis wrestled there. After Jeffries death, Walter Knott bought the building and moved it to Knott's Berry Farm. Next time you visit Knott's you might want to do a little piece on it. Anyways, love watching your videos.

I grew up right around the corner from Knotts Berry farm. Worked there during my high school days. It was really fun in the 80s, with Studio K dance club. We all smoked clove cigarettes and wore our best Gothic attire. Those were good days. I also remember going to the good Time theater in the roaring 20s area and seeing the Difranco family. Oh and the smell of fresh jelly on that old ride Knotts Berry tails. Random memories from a better time.

I tell my guest to go to the jail and look in and that I have to go to the restroom. I have PREPARED written info about my quest in my pocket, give it to the guy with the mike, tip him and quickly go back to the jail to join my guest. The most amazed are the adults saying, "How does he know that about me?"
