Nice video man. You are certainly well skilled. I’ve been watching you for a few months now. My traps were supposed to come today but delayed to tomorrow. Let me ask you what do you do with the dogs after you dispatch them? Feed them to the buzzards?

Most times, yes…buzzard buffet. I will save the glands most times too

@@CoastalLandWildlifeServices thanks. I was thinking on harvesting the glands too. I’m stoked to even think I’ll get my first one. We have a bunch here in east Texas. I’m going for coyotes and bobcats around here. I got a neighbor friend a few miles away that has sheep. He’s gonna give me a baby one that expires for whatever reason and I’m going to tie it to a tree and set traps all around it. He said there’s a baby every month or two that just doesn’t make it. But again thanks for your videos and making it look fun.

Great start to the video. Awesome catches too. What are you required to do with the animals when you can’t keep the fur? Turn them in to the DNR or just dump them? Thanks for sharing.
@CoastalLandWildlifeServices

The carcass is not allowed to leave the property they’re caught on so we have designated dump sites on each one.

So I’ve got Bridger 1.75s. How deep under the dirt should I cover them? I’ve been doing a half inch. I’ve been dug up twice and since they’re so small, I’m worried about them firing properly, too deep

Please explain the spring trapping I live in S.C. and the regulations says December 1 to March 1 for coyote trapping. Doesn't make sense cause we can shoot them all year long
@CoastalLandWildlifeServices

You can get depredation permits from SCDNR to trap out of season. Depending on the property and the states determination of it being a warranted request they can issue the permit.

I use the same bait year round. I make my own…ground up mice/rats. I only switch lures based on the time of year or season. Lots of glandular lure in the winter and mostly food based lure in the spring and fall.

How often do you rebait if your traps are out a week or 2 without a catch
@CoastalLandWildlifeServices

It depends on the weather really. Rain, obviously I’ll touch up after that. Super dry and hot, maybe every 3-5 days but just with urine. Under perfect conditions I won’t touch them for 7-10 days

Just wondering how u have built your business up to what it is today?? I understand not wanting to uncover all the tricks of the trade but I am in a part of NC that has tons of big acre hunting leases and would like to try and recoup some of my expenses. I'm not looking to make a living....I just would like to cover my gas and some time. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and God bless.

What is the actual 1 1/2 referring to or relating to on a foothold trap??? Size of what??
@CoastalLandWildlifeServices

It’s a size reference that’s relative to the jaw spread or the width of the open jaws of the trap.

Why 450 and not550
@CoastalLandWildlifeServices
4 ай бұрын
Price and size. I run a lot of traps…100’s at a time. I can afford more 450’s than 550’s and I can pack more in my truck. Also, if you live market, the 450’s do very little if any damage at all to the feet
