Hey folks,
on popular demand, I am showing a fly-by video of my CPU collection.
I am displaying my collection using two wooden cases which are both mountable to a wall. Both have transparent sliding glass windows to prevent dusting, but of course I removed them before filming.
The black wooden case is hand-made (some 25 years ago) and displays mainly non-x86 CPUs from brands such as SUN, NEC, DEC, Motorola, and the like. I also placed GPUs and processors from game consoles in this black case. As backing, I used carpet material with the intention to fix the CPUs with their pins which works mostly well.
The larger collection sits in the beech-coloured and purchased case which contains all x86 CPUs from Intel, AMD, Cyrix, STM, IBM, etc.
My collection was growing in the last years tremendously and I have no space anymore since end of 2021 to fit all processors using these cases. In my new project, I am working on a new built to present the collection, first results coming soon…
