Yup. I used to feel like I was born into trauma. Not long before I was born my aunt Peggy "Whom I'm named after was murdered "stabbed to death in Hawaii. The killer was never caught. My father committed suicide, "shot himself" when I was 6. I didn't handle it well and was put in mental institution. I was raised in a nudist colony and molested by men when I was very little. One of my boyfriends was stabbed to death. The guy who did it was caught and made a deal for 19yrs. My sister in law died of a drug overdose at the age of 36. Leaving behind my brother and my 9yr old niece. Now I'm addicted to Gabapentin. Is this amount of trauma normal for one person?

My dad locking me and my brothers out of the house in the summertime and he would not let us in to get a drink, because he was in there partying smoking crack with friends. He sold our stuff, pawned it. I got hooked on heroin when I was 20 then was on heroin and crack by the age of 22. I have been clean for four years now and the happiest I've ever been my whole life. But my Mama prayed for me as well as my dad I'm sure that"please Lord take the addiction away from my daughter and let her get away from the man that she is with now and doing it with"... More specifically my mom actually said "take the desire to want to do that drug out of her". And I tell you what prayers are very powerful especially if you're a woman of Faith or a man of faith. I still got some demons ie alcohol, pot, and Xanax pills. My mom doesn't pray nightly every day but when she does she prays for the Lord to take the desire away from me to do the pills, cigarettes, alcohol. My mom likes her alcohol beers and I pray for God to take the desire away from her and my fiance to quit smoking cigarettes, and she actually has slowed down on smoking cigarettes praise God. God bless you and your family young lady I believe if you believe in yourself that you can conquer the crack addiction. In Jesus name I pray and claim amen.

@@Monzta There is a saying that admitting or recognizing a wrong is the 1st step to healing and reconciliation. I’m more bothered by the wrongdoers that are oblivious to their wrongdoings and addiction literally takes over your better judgments. There are straight men that became addicts and have sucked a Johnson in a desperate moment to get monies for access to more drugs. There are women addicts selling sex not because they are depraved nymphomaniacs, but to get more access to drugs. Nancy Reagan said it best, “Just Say No.”, but unfortunately life happens and everyone isn’t born into a stable loving environment and everyone at varying times in their lives may not necessarily possess the best coping skills when faced with difficult or painful circumstances so they turn to self medicating. Drug abuse is like a merry go round that’s going fast and your only hope to save yourself is to jump off…but you fear the fall.

You are, for now, apparantly addicted to to a substance which has taken enough from you that you are at a particularly low point. But you have physically and emotionally come out so well, despite this! Flag down the first established nonprofit with a good reputation that's out there trying to get people out of the life ( or find them). Tell them you want to work with them, let them help you find shelter and get clean. Intern with their admin department (for that, you won't need the degree in social work). It's sooo rewarding to work with a good LOCAL organization because you see the immediate fruits of your labor. It can even pay well if you rise high enough in the ranks. It doesn't matter how intelligent, articulate, and "normal" an addict seems- they're not. And before anyone gets mad, I'm in recovery. The drugs and more specifically the addiction, steal your humanity from you. You literally can't do anything else until you get your drug of choice. Then you can worry about emotions and all that other stuff. That's why women can lose their children and still use, because EVERYTHING takes second place. Non addicts have an extremely hard time understanding that.

@@ThaMobstarr absolutely! you’ll notice when someone is attractive, they get far more sympathy and empathy than the less attractive or less appealing people. As humans, we do it subconsciously-just like you said you clicked on it bc of the thumbnail-but when 2 people are doing the exact thing, good or bad, humans (not all) generally side with the more attractive one. It’s fascinating to see on this channel, in particular bc the majority of interviews are of people who are active in addiction, homeless, sex workers etc-when it’s someone who doesn’t appeal to the eye people are far less empathetic towards them. @@nobbystyles4807 I agree that life is largely, almost overwhelming, made up of luck and circumstance. I was born into an existence that allows me to go to school, graduate, and work, maintaining pretty much the same lifestyle I’ve known most of my life. How do you explain my friend then? He had the same opportunities but let the same gang culturr we were both surrounded by lead him into a life of crime. He did time, got out, and had a good job handed to him. He didn’t choose to thrive in it. He still wanted to be the man, got into slanging, and is now living in skid row. He threw his life and family away for money and drugs. Now all he has is drugs. Are you telling me that was his fate? If that’s the case what’s the point? I might as well pitch a tent next to his and ask him to pass the pipe

I am so rooting for this girl. Shes young, she's beautiful and incredibly smart. I know exactly what she's talking about, looking on the floorboards for crack. I've been addicted to crack and opiates, specifically heroin for about 20 years and at this time I have 3 months clean and I feel incredibly fragile. Incredibly good but incredibly fragile. So my point is that I have empathy for Savannah, and I also know that the strength that she exhibits here, the intellect that she possesses can hopefully get her out of the hell that she is living right now. As addicts we are very very good at manipulation and that includes manipulating ourselves into deep denial. I really think Savannah has an incredible future as an addiction recovery counselor or as a life coach considering all she's been through. Please be safe beautiful girl 💞

If she reads this, get back here to back home, at least near the area, not Winston Salem NC but at least Bristol or Asheville NC, you need to reset before you get older. You only stop when your tired, so what happened to your mom when you was homeless? You can't take care of mom if you can't take care of yourself, you have to be tired of living like that before your motivated to change. Again you must leave the trappings of large cities, easy drugs, and selling yourself. Tent living is only fun in the woods girl. She could actually be a teacher, teaching other young girls how to get out of the game, if she ever gets out. Whenever you move you can leave your old life and meet new ppl that know nothing about your past, it's called clean slate move. Dump that shit there, and leave it there
