I think that Chad knows he’s full of it, and in this conversation, he’s having to make up his responses off the cuff. He hears that Lori is doubting him (and the spirit of Alex) and is likely very anxious about her doubts, because it could mean she ultimately throws him under the bus. And he could also be thinking that if they were to get lucky and this whole thing should somehow blow over, would he still have his gullible, “hot” girlfriend/wife to play with. So he keeps making up things about Alex. Then he hears Lori start also questioning and doubting Alex, so Chad has to continue with the farce of him being able to talk to the dead Alex. By the end of the conversation, he falls back to the technique he initially used to reel her in, which was/is to “love bomb” her by telling her how important she is to their mission. They are both very disturbed people, and each as guilty as the other; but, I believe this conversation makes it clear that Chad is the leader/instigator/“author” of this horrible story, and that narcissistic sociopath Lori is the follower. God help her when and if she ever comes to her senses and realizes what a charlatan Chad is and what she allowed herself to be manipulated into doing by him. Rest in Peace JJ, Tylee, Tammy, and Charles. And God knows who else.

I agree he's conning her, but i dont know if Chad could admit to himself how empty and cynical he is. Its almost like he believes his super-mormon exterior, and the true con artist / fantasist is like a dissociated personality... but it happens to be who he really is.
@cydkriletich6538

@@pdquestions7673 Yeah. I think he suffers from some sort of personality disorder and may be somewhere on the higher end of the Autism scale…Asperger’s, perhaps. Are you familiar with the murder of the Clutter family in Kansas in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s? Authorities believe that the two men who were executed for the crime would never have done it alone; that the two personalities, when combined, made up a third “entity” personality that created the murderous monster. I see this with Lori & Chad. Maybe I just want to believe this because of all the people who say that up until she met Chad, Lori was a good, loving mother, even with all her neurosis, narcissism, personal issues and problems. I’d like to think that she would not have done this to her children had she never met Chad. I believe she was like a bunch of raw, dry kindling, searching for some sort of religious truth in which she could find some sort of higher purpose, and Chad was a giant match, just waiting to strike at the right moment. He was yearning for another woman, and couldn’t believe his luck when Lori showed an interest in him because of his beliefs. Match struck! My guess is that Chad had some idea of becoming a polygamist, which is why he moved his family to out in the middle of nowhere on a big piece of land. My theory is that he suggested this to Tammy and she balked. That’s when he decided she was going to die before she was 50. When he met Lori, he figured Lori was game and that it was time to put his plan into action. I still think that deep down, he knows he’s a charlatan. But he’ll never admit it. He’s a psychopath and she’s a sociopath. He would have taken Tammy out at some point regardless of Lori, and done whatever else it took to get what he wanted. I don’t think Lori would have done this if she hadn’t met him. But then, that’s just my theory and we will likely never know the real story.

Remember that if things had happened the way Chad predicted, they wouldn’t have to worry about getting way with anything - the world would be falling into chaos and they would begin the grand plan to gather the 144,000. Lori is expecting Alex to keep doing his job of greasing the skids on the “other side”. @pdquestions7673

That's what I assumed, but I was mistaken. The police didn't analyze this recording until well after the raid on Chad's property. That said, this recording is still very useful now -- in establishing that both Chad and Lori were perfectly aware of the gravesites & even concerned about them being discovered. That helps prove that Chad was part of the decision to locate the graves on his property.
@NanaTop70

If you listened to testimony, they had been working on getting everything together and all the specialists there for two weeks before this call. It wasn’t because this call that they went to his backyard the next day. It has been planned.

true... sorry about that. Other viewers made me aware of that detail. I do think the raccoon text was very important in getting FBI attention on this case. But it's still very important that we interpret this code language, because - at least now - it really confirms Chad and Lori's knowledge and participation in a plan to bury the kids and avoid detection from law enforcement. Combined with the racoon text, I think this is devastating evidence for Chad.

Did you know that when this conversation happened, that she was in jail and he was not? That,s why she sounds so much more panicked and desperate than him, and wants reassurances that she will get out? I think your analyses in your posts are terrific, esp the Death Sentence appeal analysis, as I think you got that spot on where others have just seen it as Chad wanting Death Row rather than Gen Pop. But in this post, your analysis sounds spot on re their convos and concerns that the case was getting more media coverage, but I didn’t hear you mention that Lori was in jail already and he wasn’t? Her voice sounds more hyper - like he doesn’t realised this has already affected her by being jailed, whereas he’s still on the outside…

But if the kids were found the day AFTER this fone call, why did Lori say "But we didnt know that when we dug in your backyard, we were gonna find whatever"....what is she saying here exactly? The kids had yet to be found, and yet she is talking about FINDING something...its weird. I think she must be saying as idf she is the FBI or LE,and they are saying "We didnt know until we dug in your backyard.." etc. either way, or anyway, she knew what was vuried and she dosent care AT ALL. It gives me nightmares how terrified the kids wud have been to have Chad and Alex turn in them, and their mum not helping but encouraging the murders..it seems like, from fone pings, Tylee may have uave been killed at Loris (maybe drugged 1st, they cudnt tell) and then taken to Chads for buriel. Just hard when its a puzzel where we still don't t have all the pieces..The Slug was so slimey in his approach. I think he is a quiet sadist, murdering and labbelling small kids dark, and zombies, killing bees over and over as a kid himself, rhe way tylee and JJ were found....its too weird to be a normal straight forward murder...imagine Chudders going nuts over murdering Tylee....sickening. Sorry I could be more clear. What I mean is that they plan was not just to bury the kids, but (more importantly) for them never to be found. So I think they're worried about the gravesites being discovered. Remember, part of Alex's job was not just to bury the kids, but to do it successfully... in order words, in a way that they would never be found. I think that's what they're worried about, and sorry if I didn't make that part more clear.

Lt Hermosillo said he did not hear this call until after the kids were already recovered. Could the timing refer to Chad's vision the 2nd coming was to be July 20 2020? This call was June 8 2020. If the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine) was only a month away, then Lori is getting outta jail soon. I don't know numerology but Lori's arrest 02-20-2020 seems like an interesting alignment of 2's. Who in the universe thinks Lori would be caught DEAD in a mobile home? She made it clear that when TENT cities are set up SHE will be in a brick and mortar dwelling, NOT a white tent.

She was arrested on my baby boy's 21st bday . Her sister says she is still in her delusional state , I believe maybe some delusion but in my opinion she sure knew how to plan , lie and steal . She knew right from wrong and she knew killing those kids were wrong so she still plays the delusional game to mentally tell herself that her kids are fine . RIP to all the victims especially JJ and Tylee ❤❤

They jurer that Nate Eaton interviewed the other day had a good point... Why bury them in his back yard when you can drive 5 minutes in any direction and they would never have been found... They wanted them close for a reason.. maybe a show of dominance because I think Chad absolutely hated JJ and Tyley, and for that reason want to be able ro see them.

Perhaps, due to their religious beliefs, they couldn't leave the children in an unmarked grave. If Lori believed she was doing this to save them from the terrible events she believed would happen in the future, and also justified it to herself that they were freeing souls from evil spirits, she most likely still wanted her children buried nearby.

I know, and I apologize for that not being clear. My interpretation is basically that things got problematic (went to 100%) months earlier, but they seem to be looking back and asking if that was unavoidable or inevitable... and, of course, at the time of the call they are very worried about whether the gravesites are secure & won't be discovered. At least that's my interpretation.

Well that may be true, bit when Chad says the thing has blossomed, i cant help thinking how, months earlier, it was just an Idaho law enforcement issue... and then at some point the case exploded into the national media w the FBI getting involved. Obviously that was months before this jail call, but i have to think that explosion of national attention was a real surprise to Lori & Chad. And so i think they were really worried that Alex's burial project would eventually be found. They look back and ask themselves, did complications have to arise, and i think theyre looking back on how this went from a local missing children case, to a major national case. But thats just my take on Chad remarking on how the situation had blossomed.
