Organised by Women in Global Health Austria & the European Institute of Women’s Health
FemTech, short for female technology, was coined under a decade ago to describe the growing industry of technology products and services tailored to improving women’s health. In recent years the FemTech market has expanded, increasing the awareness and demand for gender-specific healthcare solutions. This session will focus on women’s health in the context of digitalisation in healthcare and FemTech. We will delve into how digital health innovations can address and even rectify inequities in women's health. Key topics that will be explored are the potential of digital tools to either narrow or widen health disparities, the impact of FemTech on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), and the essential role of policies and women in leading healthcare innovations. The session aims to demonstrate how digital solutions and femtech can lead to more inclusive and equitable health outcomes for all women, across all ages, and paying due regard to diversity and diverse needs.
