I’ve already been praising how Dani’s technique and vocals are vastly improving rather than diminishing but mainly, can we just appreciate the latest COF guitar duo and how nice the riffs in this song are? They’re a little showy by being simple and melodic at the same time. Doesn’t seem like one of their easiest songs while sounding akin to Nymphetamine which is very easy to play. That tapping part really showcasing the songwriting and being technical at the same time etc. this song is so cool. The solos flow so smoothly too. Especially impressed with Merek’s tremolo notes. And Richards solo is freaking perfect.

For me, this song has that “sound” of dread and hopelessness infused with some sort of optimism, the same way that “Her Ghost in the Fog” from 2000 had that foggy atmosphere. Something about the female voice and the metal mixed with operatic tones makes me feel so loose and calm. The poetic madness combined with prophecy amalgamated by that sense of desperation and fantasy. Great timing for such a weird space and time we’re all living in 🤘🏻

with all honesty, i have a been cradle fan... hardcore... But MIDIAN, is forever on top Musical Art. Though... "Godspeed on Devils Thunder" is as Stupid Orgasmic Amazing, but everything after, looses something. Venus Aversa took me a lot of time to get the vibe of it, and i still miss something in there, as if something is not quite right. Manticore and other horrors, is interesting, but feels less interesting, its a good audio experience, yes, but just that. Hammer of the witches, was incredibly imaginative compared to the last albums. where the next one, Seductiveness of Decay, was the most WTF work i have ever heard of them, at fist listening looks good, but the more you listen, the more you realize there was not really a cohesive idea in it. Now, this song does not say anything about the WHOLE album. I disagree, because if all album will sound like this then "Extreme Gothic Metal" is no more. Truth be told, of all my favorite bands i grew up with, Cradle i am ALWAYS craving for more, and hit or miss, they do deliver (except seductiveness. good god. thornography sounds like a masterpiece in comparison). Okay, so with a better audio driver in my proper PC, the bass was pulled from Master of Puppets, drums have a From the Cradle to Enslave sound, guitars feel like it was written between Cruelty and Midian's respective releases. Like it was a song too late for Cruelty and too early for Midian. This honestly, in my opinion might be the best song they've released since 2004. The video was sad and poetic and wasn't trying nearly as hard to be "edgy"as CoF have tried in the past; It told a coherent story and was well executed/directed, further. Wow that’s a perfect viewpoint, I’m not really a black/death metal listener but I can’t explain it… Cradle of Filth just has a great appeal to me when I want to listen to them.

I've been a cradle fan for 23 years now. I got into them right before cruelty came out. I LOVED THEM .. until damnation and a day... then they faded for me. Nymphetamine and thornography were decent for what they were, but honestly I didn't love what they had become. Then it got worst! The truth is I had given up on this band until 2015 I randomly heard a new song and I said to myself "damn this is solid" this current lineup is great. These are the best guitarists they've had since Stewart . Cradle is back! And they've been back for 6 years now. For anyone who have given up on them I suggest you seriously listen to hammer of the witches with an open mind. It really is great from start to finish. Especially the last 2 bonus tracks. Then their last album came out, and no it wasn't the symphonic thrashiness (not trash, THRASH) of hammer, but damn that album was good and had a handful of killer songs. Now THESE 2 NEW SONGS........ SOLID! absolutely great. Is it cruelty or dusk? No and it never will be. It's something different. But it's amazing. Yes I know Dani doesn't have the screams that he once had but omfg give the man a break, he's almost 50 years old. I can't do my metal screams the exact way I did when I was 25 anymore either. But his vocals are respectable and still unique. And the music is top notch, his vocals compliment it in many ways. His Vox are very good but not the ice cold shrill of the Midian days. The new cradle shit is great! I hope they keep this lineup going. Great job COF!! IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT CRADLE HAS DONE SINCE 2015 THEN YOU EITHER NEVER LIKED CRADLE OR YOU DIDN'T ACTUALLY GIVE THE MUSIC A REAL CHANCE. LISTEN TO IT WITH AN OPEN MIND

i agree...however Damnation and a Day introduced me to extreme metal and it is still my favourite album by COF. in my opinion it is a masterpiece...maybe try giving a listen or two with an open mind. This new tracks sound promising...new album one week away...its going to be a blast i am sure!

@@victoriousline2566 I understand where you're coming from. Thing is I had been into extreme metal for 5 years before Damnation released. I got into cradle right before Cruelty released. My issue with Damnation is simply that it WAS NOT cradle of filth, it was a COMPLETE change in style. The only thing that even made Damnation sound like COF was Dani's voice. Don't get me wrong, Damnation was very good for what it was, but it was so disappointing when you are expecting a style more like cruelty or Midian. But Damnation grew on me, and if it was your first real introduction to extreme metal then I definitely understand why you love it.

Holy hell I love their new stuff! Never did I imagine that I would be able to find new songs that hit me in a similar way and as hard as CoF did when I was a teen... not surprised that it ended up being they themselves that served the songs, since in the end, no one else can compare. It's not only the nostalgic vibes I get from the new songs, the direction they've grown it is fucking fire! Only wish I'd have heard the album sooner. Thank you!!
