Thanks Maymay, I have to admit I like buying all the tools but often don't actually use them. Little ideas like you gave in this video may help me control my spending plus reduce all the stuff I carry around if needing to travel light. I always have in the back of my mind that I really do not have other family and friends who would appreciate paper crafting gifts therefore it is often hard to justify the expense. Keep up the videos do enjoy watching yours very much.

I would use whatever I had handy...wooden skewer with a dull point, pen parts, and whatever Maymay showed, etc. My DIL found a new Martha Stewart scoreboard at Salvation Army for $4. What a find! Also craft stores often have 40-60% off one item coupons in my area. If you don’t have one, put it on your birthday wish list!! Worth it.

Today I'm really swinging for the fences, about to embark on a journey that is entirely new to me, scoring & creasing. To say I'm nervous going into this would be the understatement of the decade, my anxiety is taking over & I'm literally sick because my fear of failing at being able to create a fold is overwhelming. I do not have the proper tools for scoring &creasing instead I am using a book end in place of a ruler & what was once used Exclusively for the repair & assembly of screens I am now using a Spline Roller as my scoring tool & there is no room for error & insufficient amount for me to even practice on 1 but I really have no choice but to try it multiple ways to find out which will produce the best outcome; will scoring & creasing prior to laminating produce the better fold or scoring/creasing post laminate? Like I said at the beginning, I'm really swinging for the fences with this, I have to be able to create a nice strong fold on laminated paper. Because it's more than just paper, I have mine & about 30 of my family members Memorial Cards from my Grandmas funeral last week. Wish me luck!

Your scoring and creasing journey intro is inspiring and somewhat familiar. 🙏 How are your journeys now? I'd like to share my current transformations in creativity that I previously didn't imagine possible, so that maybe someone reading this will be inspired to create. @mandalishis I also relate to the thick clouds of anxiety and the winds of fear that I pull into a vortex around my self expression. Oh, so dark and destructive have been the storms I've created. Currently, I give Thanks for what I've learned and am making changes in my thoughts and habits. For me, I'm Blessed to be breaking my dark creative cycles and some through: ***making 'mistakes' on purpose and finding their beauty; ***accidental 'mistakes' are now opportunities to work into a project instead of tossing the project out; ***realizing and changing my distorted views of superficially defining 'mistakes', which is deepening my 'acceptance'; ***validating my curiosity in new art forms led to actually trying them - and now I seek them out; ***allowing creativity as true self-expression; ***instead of taking many things in my art oh so seriously (which reinforced self-criticism), I'm learning to detach and let the art flow through me; ***flowing from my heart and not my mind; ***finding what makes laughter uncontrollably burst from my Being (like KZitem Shorts of certain dancing) and building it into a habit: every day, truly LAUGH! ❤️ May God bless you all ❤

I use an old pen (or the Cricut scoring pen) and my cutter - I just keep the blade away from my paper, or remove it, then I use the ruler on my cutter to measure and run the pen along the blade track - most of the time I will close the arm that holds the blade so the paper will not shift. Before this I would do the ruler method like you showed only I'd use a pencil to run along the edge that way I could make sure everything was straight and I would simply erase the line when I was done

Thank you for giving so many different ways to score! I only do this once in a while so, for me, putting the money into purchasing a scoring board is not practical for me so you taking the time to show other options is so awesome! If I was making cards as often as you do, I would totally put the money into getting the "fancy", or, to put it another way, practical, tools (like a scoring board or bone folder etc.) that would allow me to use my time much more efficiently in comparison to using these other, alternative, methods. So thank you again for taking the time to share those options! ❤

My respect to you, dear lady. I so very often look for simple ways to do things myself, but some might not know they can make their own mustard, per say. "Some things we have in the store - you need, and some things you can get around. So spend your money wisely. Spend it where YOU need to spend it - on what you need to spend it on. And if tools are not your thing, there are some ways to get around it." That is an honest and therefore respectable business perspective.

YEARS ago I bought a jug of milk at the grocery store. Where your fingers are meant to go through the handle, the plastic hadn't punched out. It was about 4" long, more pointy at one end and rounded at the other. It was a bit puffy in the middle (probably 2 layers of plastic with a bit of air in the middle) but with firm tapered edges. I knew it was good for something and kept it. I've used it as a bone folder, a scoring tool and a picker. Oddest darned thing how I got it and I have used the heck out of it!!

I have been crafting for years, same as many other people. I recently purchased a stamping platform. My latest obsession is making weird and wonderful folds for card making. So I started to look for a scoring board. As nearly every tutorial video is with a score board. I really enjoyed watching this. How clever to use all these different things. My scoring way has always been a pencil and a ruler. What turned into a bad idea of mine was a glass dip pen that I use for my parchment craft, oh dear it ripped the card. My recent success came from using a diamond painting pen. I love watching your videos they are always fun.
