I rarely go for wood veneer & even less for cork. This would be an easy purge for me.

I do really like the look of them, but they are just too heavy for most paper projects.

I have been working on purging my stash. We never stop buying so we always have product. I think we also change how we scrap and what we scrap... it is such a long hard project

So true! When I finish this round of purging, I’ll put together a video of tips/tricks to help avoid overbuying and maintaining a collection.

LAURA YOU ARE LOSING YOUR MIND! Getting rid of those GORGEOUS leaf and button packs deem you officially one page short of a full album. Someone call the authorities asap 🤣 Serious tho those leaves are INCREDIBLE, may I ask where you got those?

Lol! I knew someone would call me out. They are stunning, but I know I won’t use them. Better they go to a home that will appreciate them! Pretty sure those were from Hip Kit Club.

I am so excited about this video. I am in the process of moving my craft space. Your gentle encouragement and process has encouraged me to continue purging those things I no longer love or doesn't work for me. Thank you, Laura.

You’ve set me straight yet again! Lol. I was telling someone that I was going to purge my brown cs stash. Way too much and there are colours that I would never use. She suggested I take those no longer loved colours and make them into something I would love. This idea has remained a nugget in my brain. (I already have a thin pile of paper that I use for backings). But…..WHEN would I have time to work on such a project? Let’s get real. Out they go. Someone else might love them. Thank you

Yes!! This is something I have had to constantly remind myself of too. Realistically, when would I use this? If it’s “I don’t know” or “not in the next 5-10 years,” it goes.

My gosh, this hurts my heart! Though I appreciate what you are doing for your own mind set. I have been saving up a money envelope for about a while now to get back into 12x12 scrapbooking after loosing my supplies and albums in a house fire last year. We lost our house. Looking forward to your next video!

Sending you all the good vibes! Starting over can be a painful process too. For me, this is about being intentional and practical. The majority of my stash was either severely discounted or came from working on design teams for the last 7-8 years.

Thank you for making this series. I love it. For those little, tiny cork hearts, do you use them like you would use enamel dots/sequins? If so, I wonder if you might reach for them if they were stored with your dots and sequins? Same with the cork paper, maybe store it with your specialty paper?

Yes! I usually use them as scattering pieces. I am finding myself using them less on layouts though because they are so thick.

Yes! They are lovely, but knowing your style and the limits of your space is so important. I don’t have room to keep things I’ll probably never use.

Very concise and specific parameters you set for yourself as to why you were going to purge some of your wood veneer and cork embellishments. I really like how specific that was. Purging or organizing is always so overwhelming, which is probably why many crafters rooms get so out of control. I’ve noticed my dedicated space for stamps is rapidly outgrown itself due to being subscribed to Heidi’s Stamp Society. And so it is giving me time to pause and think about what sets I am realistically using! Ill have to purge some more. Especially when it contents with the space in my room. Lots of food for thought. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Laura, I feel like these are useful tips! 😊

Yes! I am finding that having those parameters really help me to focus on the goal. There are so many reasons that I could make to keep things, but if I push myself to realistically imagine how things fit in my space and if I would use it, that really helps.

So glad you’re enjoying it! I have had to downsize to about 1/3 of my previous space and it was a challenge. I will definitely do a “craft space” tour when it’s done…not a whole room anymore.
