10mm or 12mm would also make for more figures on the table. Cheaper for a DM to put together a tribe of Orcs too for example. Typical reasons why wargamers like it. Downside is individuals are less distinguishable (not such a serious issue for an army with uniform uniforms anyway) and most fantasy figures are in 25mm-28mm (not such an issue if you're 3d printing everything). One interesting benefit is that "smallish" dragons end up being twice the size in comparison which is nice. I'm actually all for it.

i only have one tiny little problem with the entire thing, only bronze weapons or armor can be cast in molds like that. harder metals get brittle if cast the harder the metal the more it becomes like glass xD so id imagine dwarven metals to shatter like crystal glass if dropped on the ground if someone had cast it in a mold. Otherwise fantastic work it looks amazing

It's a pretty shocking thing to be excitedly opening a package and finding a part of a German toilet, USED part of a German toilet. I like that black tar soup! That was a very cool way of adding some flowing ripples and texture to the lava by using Mod Podge and the air from an airbrush! This came out really nice Knarb! Quick question: Did you notice if the resin pour seemed to get really hot while it was drying? Or were you able to cool it by turning off the heat in your workspace?
@KnarbMakes
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks T-Nu. This resin cures quite slowly, so I don't think it got very hot at all. The instructions say the optimal curing temp is around 20-25celsius, so I dont think I should be chilling it further.

It's always humorous how we associate lava and magma with dwarven forges. Magma doesn't get anywhere near hot enough to forge iron, never mind steel, and lava only BARELY reaches the minimum temperatures needed for iron, but still nowhere near enough for steel. It's one of those fantasy tropes that's wholly cemented in the rule of cool :)
@KnarbMakes

Oh yeah, I realized this as I was researching forging and smelting. Still, fantasy worlds could play by different rules.
