Got mine on sale at Lowe’s plus a 20% discount for applying for their credit card. Paid $681.00 for the combo. Nice replacement from a smaller 40 year old unit.

I have the same series Craftsman tool cart. Saw a video for a husky box w the soft close that was sticking like yours. The fix was to remove the drawer and apply lithium grease on the rails and also on the plastic detent at the rear. Drawers were smooth as butter afterwards. Will try the same w my cart.

Your box is defective. Mine isn’t like that. You should take it back and exchange it

1quickgt you want to read this !!!! Ok, I just bought this unit tonight and I may be on the road solve the hard pull drawer issue you hate. So, I am in the store, I bought the floor unit, and while waiting for the four Lowes guys to come over and lift this thing into my Subaru I started taking the drawers out to make it lighter. I only got one drawer out before one of the associates told me that wouldn't be necessary. Anyway, after we put the drawer back in both the soft close and that hard open pull WERE GONE. That one drawer now pulls SOOOOO SMOOOTH and I want all of them that way. I have no idea what we did, but I am going to play around with the other drawers tomorrow and see if I can recreate that magic on all the drawers. Apparently it can be done. :-)

I’m debating between this or the 3000 series.

I would say the 3000 series, I think the drawers might be a little better.

They're all like that. Craftsman, Harbor Freight, Snap-on, (Husky is softer), DeWalt has none. Take out the drawers and disable the mechanism. If you don't want the drawers to stick out when you move the cabinet, lock it before you move it. I prefer this to the old way of having to lift up on the drawer to un-latch it because the latch eventually gets screwy. If you rarely move your cabinet, shim the cabinet up off the ground and set the front a hair higher so the drawers roll inwards instead of outwards. Personally, I pull out the top two drawers and then lock it, that way I have two unlocked drawers where I put stuff that I always need, then lock up the stuff that I don't want people to screw around with. Don't slam them. It'll bend the locking tab on the drawer and cause it to not lock anymore. The 3000 series is 22ish inches deep instead of 18 inches deep. I prefer the 2000 series because the handle on the side sticks out so I can hang my TIG torch from it. Plus, there's no wooden top. You can always cut some plywood and stick it on there. For me, the lip around the top seems to contain spills. Mine is trashed. I spilled brake fluid. But it stayed on top instead of running down the sides and really wrecking it.
