I''m appreciative of your video - thank you. My chain keeps coming off - like over and over, and I do as you say and tighten till there's a bounce back...and 3 minutes later, it comes off. Very frustrating - and greasy.

I’ve had this happen before with other saws where I failed to seat the cover correctly. It was tight but after taking the cover back off I realized it wasn’t seated directly allowing the chain to “walk”. Not sure if that’s the case with this saw but worth double and triple checking.

@@DIYTechnician I so very much appreciate your reply. I must say, I have no idea what "walk" means. Would you mind explaining? Everything I've had to learn over the last few years I try to make my sons do it with me so they can learn as well. So you're affecting 3 people here lol.

@@bellofthedesert1595 Great idea getting the young ones involved. I did the same thing. Well it is possible you have a defective chainsaw, however, the point I was trying to make was just to make sure the cover is placed properly in it's proper setting. There aren't any secrets. If you have doubts about it's functioning correctly, its best to return it if possible and I wouldn't run it very long if this keeps happening. I'm no company rep or anything and have no vested interest so if you can't make get it to work like it should, it's best not to run it for safety reasons. I know that sometimes we all buy stuff and are sometimes unaware that what we are purchasing (whether it be Lowe's or amazon) it could have been returned by another consumer. Best to air on the side of caution in all instances with these. As you know too, the chain stretches on chainsaws after the first run or two resulting in the chain coming off if you don't tighten it and re-sharpen it again (since metal to metal contact likely occurred) which can result in more malfunctioning. Anyway, sorry for the long response. In a nutshell, if it isn't doing what you need it to, I'd take that sucker back or bring it into a chainsaw shop and talk to to experts. Good luck to you.

That plastic wheel tension adjustment is crap. Would much rather have a screw to use. My tension well won't tighten the chain enough now. Is there another way to tighten it??

@@DIYTechnician yes. It seems the stud that moves when I do that is too high to let the bar lay flat.
