I would have liked to see you demonstrate how to measure out the anchoring brackets for a new install. I finally got around to installing an opener that I've had for over 20 years. It's been sitting in the storage room for that long. I finally have a car that will fit in the garage and have to start from the beginning. Excellent tutorial other than missing that for the first timer. Thank you

Thanks Bee Bob. Yeah , that would've been nice to do the brackets but I already had them in place. Just make sure you hit a stud somewhere.

Even though it says Craftsman, it's actually a Lift Master...both your new and old unit lol. Both Craftsman and Lift Master garage door openers are made by a company called Chamberlain.

I just replaced a 1960s screwdrive opener with a genie chain drive. TOP THAT!!! The old one had a motor attached the door and rotated on a stationary screw that ran thru the middle of the motor armature. Weird set up. No brand name on it. It had 3 copper strips that ran the full length of the opener. 3 brushes attached to the motor that contacted the copper strips for power. I bet the new one does not last this

Did u rerun the wiring for the sensors? How did u get the new sensors on if u used the old wire thru your ceiling?

I'm no expert on doors, but maybe it's the spring? There are some other videos on KZitem that explain how to adjust the door.
@allotherstaken3

My spring broke and caused the door to be too heavy and that broke the opener.
@KrisTheSpecialist

@@allotherstaken3Yep the spring is something left to experts who know exactly how much to wind it and not injure you.
