Craig Button placed Martin-Louis on waivers who was claimed by Tampa. He traded Jean-Sebastien Giguere for a 2nd round pick to the Ducks. Giguere went on to start for 10 years with the Ducks. Button is not to be taken seriously.

U are sleeping on mukhamadullin watched him when he played a couple games for the sharks recently. He controls the ice and is a very imposing player. The stiffness and clumsiness of his game will eventually fix itself in time. He has great offensive abilities and very underrated shutdown defence. He reminds me a lot of Headman. Muk is already sjs best defender already imo

Nah, Gauthier is just having a breakout year this year. And he's ranking Michkov a little lower because he said in the article that it's a "ranking of the best players outside of the NHL right now". He probably just thinks those 4 guys are a little farther along, not that they have a higher ceiling.

@@carlschiller5646Gauthier’s production right now in his D+2 is around the same as Smith, Perrault, and Leonard in their D+1. Gauthier is probably the most overrated current prospect. He’s a good player but he should absolutely be below someone like Michkov

@@thebigbucktheory5488 cutter had 12 points in 7 games playing on the 1st line and with PP1 time. Perrault and Smith had 10 & 9 points playing on the 3rd line with less PP1 time. It’s safe to say that Gauthier played well but “went bananas at the world juniors” seems excessive since he was out-performed by all 3 of the BC freshman in the silver and gold medal games.

It's good to see Mcgroarty,Barlow,Salmonsson But not Chibrikov,Lambert,Lucius,Heinola who still imo have higher potential then alot of players on this list even Heinola if he gets chance on another team he is better then DelMastro,Dionicio,Shakir,Roy,Maillioux and others. One things you might have to factor is its Buttons list personal not who might have most hype. He has said again and again he likes charecter/total game captain material.

Alot of guys had good numbers in the AHL Cory Conacher Barre Boulet These guys fit the same mold as a stankoven. I think stankoven is much better than those dudes but for smaller faster skaters the AHL can be deceptive when it comes to stats.

Because Zellweger was dominating the AHL on one of the worst teams. And Dvorsky is putting up good numbers in the OHL on the most stacked line in the league and one of the best teams. Both playing well, just one's playing in a much tougher league and on a worse team. Plus he's putting up those numbers as a Dman. Both great prospects tho

lol you wouldn’t have Nikishin that high?? That’s insane, he’s done UNHEARD of things as a defenseman in the KHL for his age the last two seasons. No other player remotely close to his age has ever even come CLOSE to putting up the numbers he’s had. And offense aside there’s also the fact that he’s a VERY imposing physical presence too which NHL teams LOVE to have and he’s terrific defensively too. Extremely rare breed of defenseman in this day and age. Not to mention he also captains his team which is ridiculous given how high profile SKA is in Russia.

I will say I write and rank my own prospects. And I think grav just checks stats and doesn't watch every prospect (it's super hard). He's done it in a few videos. I work a full time job and have 2 kids and still watch video of tape or games of the prospects I blog about though. It's not just looking at elite prospects and gauging your opinion on the box score.

I've been following Shakir since he was drafted to The Devils. Grav knew very little about him when he was drafted and claimed and I quote "Hukuna Matatta will never play in the NHL." Pepperidge Farms Remembers! Go see what Stat Boy Steve had to say when the Devils drafted him. He's from Europe and actually watched him play.

And it's clear as day to see to anyone who isn't either blind or a Philly fan. 2) How tf is a 19 year old an over-ager in a U-20 tournament.... make it make sense. 3) Obviously the line with 3 high end prospects that have been playing with each other for years is going to outproduce the guy with solid, not great, players around him. But even despite that, he leads BC in goals by a wide margin and 2nd on the team in points. That alone should tell you a lot. But it isn't really about points, it's about what you actually see. And Gauthier has everything you could want in a player.

Probably unpopular opinion but he's not that far from the truth with putting Gauthier, Smith, Leonard over Michkov. You must keep in mind how KHL watered down since the russian started the war in Ukraine. Just check the casual roster he's playing against in any game and you'll see. What's so hilarious for me how everyone are sleeping on Quentin Musty, while he's tearing apart the OHL.

No it’s the fact Michkov literally put up more points than any nhl player that’s ever played in the khl. So ovi, malkin, panarin, kaprizov. And he missed 20 games. Michkov is underrated because he was drafted by the flyers and he’s in Russia so no one’s really paying attention to him. But he’s unbelievable.

Also the high-level comedy that Arseni Gritsyuk is putting up the exact same numbers (19 G, 19 A) on the team Matvei Michkov was supposed to play for but was instead loaned to HK Sochi and not on this list is laughable at best. I don't think comparing the points of Willander's first year to Hutson's first year is really accurate. Yes Hutson is a more offensively gifted player than Willander, but that is about it. Hutson got to run the power play in his first year, Hutson is still on the same team that Willander is on. Willander is on the 3rd pairing (moved up to the 2nd pair for a bit after the start to the season), but he does not run the power play at all. Hard to compare his point totals when he gets 0 power play time. Next year when Hutson graduates to the NHL, Willander will run the show, then you can compare them. Thanks
