This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen with Craig. He dropped all of the silly sexy pass stuff and just chatted. He is so smart and funny and she met him in the middle. Wonderful.

One of my favorite first lines is: A beginning is the time to make sure all the balances are correct. It's from Dune, by Frank Herbert.

When Craig was talking about favorite first lines in books, I was thinking the same thing. Everyone should read Nineteen Eighty-Four. Also, Craig's imitation of his baby crying made my day. Thanks as always, Mal!

@Kwyjibo2006 Already read that. If you liked it, you should check out Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Another alternate future premise that has a lot of social commentary in it. Still entertaining though. Huxley aimed a little farther than 84 in his predictions.

@sushiczar2001 I think 1984 is better written and is deeper on a philosophical point of view. But that's really a matter of taste, they are both amazing books. They used to say we have choice between Huxley's and Orwell 's worlds. I hope there is another choice for the future though...

@laulln You know, I am actually related to Huxley. I agree though, 1984 had better plot development. BNW was more spartan in that sense. I look at them as being geared towards two different demographics. As for their predictions, I think the authors tried to follow the natural path of evolution up until the time of their plots through the screen of their own fears about what they saw in the world around them. Whether they found success or not is a matter of opinion at this point. Me, hit ad miss
