Watching as much of the show as I have, I believe that one of the coolest parts about it is that he didn't have to. You could reeeeeeeeeally tell (for the most part) who were stupid (and good/ bad people), who were great, smart, funny, etc. I was truly surprised at how some were so close to being average, everyday people.

Thing is though, Craig COULD talk politics if he wanted to. He's a very clever, well-read and informed guy. He's also fucking hilarious! I wonder if it's because people like Billy Connolly, Frankie Boyle and Craig Ferguson come from Scotland- and Glasgow specifically. Scotland (and Ireland) are rain-drenched and can be desolate places. People who live there then tend to need entertainment and a funny perspective. I think that's why there's so many comedians in Scotland and Ireland. Craig is only entertaining people incidentally. Primarily, he's entertaining himself. By the way, all three Glasgow comedians happen to be part Irish.

Ahhhh.... the best, most genuine, hilarious host ever, being interviewed by the antithesis of all of those things. I've seen specials where she's a shrew behind the scenes to the staff. miss Craig, he's just so awesome and Cordon is not even 1/8 of the sincere charisma.

I'd have an instant answer to the most awkward guest and that would be his last interview with Tony Shalhoub (Monk). Honestly, I felt embarrassed for Craig. Tony was acting very strange and took everything Craig threw at him at face value and I remember when Craig was talking about having an awkward pause with his last guest, he said "well I think we've already had one before the break". Never saw Shalhoub back....

Yes he did but indirectly. The character of Doc Martin originated in the film Saving Grace, for which Craig was co-writer and starred in. Because of that, he received writer credit in the Doc Martin series. Saving Grace is probably his best known film, and was well received.

Many, if not most, people don't want to be challenged, but would feel lonely if not engaged. This show fits that mold, and tries very hard not to offend a sedentary audience. Funny thing that Rachel herself is an interesting, vibrant person, but her show is not.

I would have thanked him for all the laughs and wanted to know what thoughts he had on the metoo-testimonies, since he had a flirtatious way but still seemed to manage to stay on the right side of the line mostly. It's funny because it doesn't really bother the people who's name's are being mispronounced but it bothers others. My name is Lauren and 95% of the time my name is pronounced Loren- I'm just so used to it now that it feels like they are both my names...Now my mother is another story- it really bugs the hell out of her.
