Love this. I had a cassette recording of this and listened to it all the time. Also saw him live in Glasgow and Bill Hicks the following week

He went sober in '92. He was 15 years sober while Britney Spears was freaking out, which was in 2007. Regardless, you're right, he wasn't sober during this video.

@davedim 80s yes, but he sobered up completely by 1993 or 94. By the time he was on the Drew Carey Show he was sober for good.

It's possible to appreciate him while still wondering if he was sober. I am one of those people who laughed, but also noticed certain things that may have indicated he had been using.
