You said you don’t have kids so I’ll let you know how powerful it truly is. My son died at the beginning of this year and this song saved my life. One day I’ll see him again…that’s the truth. I heal a little more each day and that gives me the strength to be there for my other kids. It’s brutal but comforting to think about.

The first time Craig sang this song was live at the Grand Ole Opry. There's actually a video of him singing and barely making it through the song. When he walked off stage Ricky Skaggs told him how good the song was and Craig responded I'm glad you liked it I will never sing it live again. Several of his close friends including Blake Shelton convinced him that he needed to sing this song as a healing process not just for him but for others that had lost children.

Dads Hurt Too People don't always see the tears a dad cries, His heart is broken too when his child dies. He tries to hold it together and be strong, Even though his world's gone wrong. He holds his wife as her tears fall, Comforts her through it all, He goes through his day doing what he's supposed to do, But a piece of his heart has been ripped away too. So when he's alone he lets out his pain, And his tears come like falling rain. His world has crashed in around him, And a world that was once bright, has gone dim. He feels he has to be strong for others, But Dads hurt too, not just the Mothers, He searches for answers but none are to be found, He hides behind a mask when he is feeling down. He smiles through his tears, He struggles and holds in his fears. But what you see on the outside is not always real, Men don't always show how they really feel. So I'd like to ask a favor of you, The next time you see a mother hurting over the loss of her child, Please remember.....Dads Hurt Too!

Cole Swindell, You should be here. Written for his dad, who passed just before Cole signed his first recording contract. First time I heard that song was 0932 23 February 2016. I had just gotten to my car in the hospital parking lot after spending the last 4 days there as my dad slipped away. His 16.5 year battle with colon cancer was over. He lived 16 more years than he was expected to by his doctors. Every day he treated as a blessing. I started my car, song came on. I'm not ashamed to say it took another 30 minutes before I could safely drive home. Now the song still brings tears but out of love of cherished memories

I lost a son, and miscarried a second son, you will never be forced to live through anything harder in your life ever. You will never feel your guts ripped out or be able to unhear that gut wrenching scream of a mother who finds or is told her baby has been ripped from her soul. 💔 The pain is never gone no matter how many more children they have. Mothers day, Christmas, birthdays, death anniversary its hard to even breath. My son has been gone 38 years now I still feel like a bomb has gone off in the pit of my stomach. I watched my sister n law go through it twice, her son killed on his dirt bike by a drunk driver, and her daughter some 30 years later to suicide. When they put her child in the herse to go to the grave site she let out that horrific scream only a mommy can know. She is now raising her grandbabies. All she has left to keep her in this world. So if you have children go hug them today, it doesn't matter if they are 2 or 72 they are always your baby.

The Bridegroom who is the “WORD” (John 1:1 + 14) will marry a “WORD” Bride, NOT a denominational bride: Due to men (down the last 2,000 years) adding to and subtracting from the Word of God, (often due to ignorance) the pure Word of God as the Apostles knew it had to be “RESTORED”. The Lord Jesus Christ must REMAIN in Heaven until the times of RESTITUTION OF ALL THINGS, Acts 3:20 + 21. 20. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of RESTITUTION OF ALL THINGS, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. The word “RESTITUTION” means “RESTORE.” The Lord stated that He would send HIS END TIME PROPHET to “RESTORE” the Word of God, as the Apostles knew it. Matthew 17:11. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and RESTORE ALL THINGS. The Lord stated that He would send His End Time Prophet in THIS DAY. Malachi 4:5. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet BEFORE the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. This Elijah prophet comes BEFORE, “The coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord,” which happens in THIS DAY. To recieve the Lord we MUST receive the MESSENGER who the Lord sends as the messenger is given the necessary understanding of the Word of God: John 13:20. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth WHOMSOEVER I SEND receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. We are now living in the last days, God has kept His word and sent His prophet, thereby “RESTORING” His word to His Bride. God has raised the dead on FIVE occasions through His chosen vessel. God was photographed SIX times, (Veiled in the form of the Pillar of Fire) with His chosen vessel. www.williambranhamstorehouse.com/pdf_downloads/the%20supernatural%20halo%20photograph.pdf The, “Elijah anointing,” (Concerning the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ) is used “TWICE” at each “Coming of the Lord.” John the Baptist`s ministry fulfilled Isaiah`s prophecy: Matthew 3:3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John, “Prepared the way for the Lord,” John did NOT “Restore anything,” as that which would need to be restored, (The full understanding of the whole Bible,) had not yet been given. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kXeuk6uEap6hoWk

I lost my nephew in 2014 he was two weeks old I cried a lot that you I cry a lot when it hits December 30th Is about today I cry a lot when it hits January 13th his death day but I know when I get to heaven and Jesus welcome to me beyond the gates I will see him again and I can't wait for that day but until then I'm still going to miss him always. Hold the ones you love close cuz you never know what day will be their last or yours may God Almighty bless everyone's day.

Watch the live version that he does on the Kelly Clarkson show. But, you better have some tissues, because when he lost it, so did I and many others on the show.

Lost my son 3 years ago in January. 23 years young. Still the pain is real. Had it not been for God and his little brother We would have never survived. Thank you for this video and thanks for being you.

This song has helped me through some really rough days. See I lost my son to an IED in Afghanistan 3 weeks after I retired from a 35 year Army career. I had to dress in my uniform and go to my daughter's house and tell her that her twin brother had been killed. I tore my heart when instead of hugging me she slammed the door shut locked it and hasn't said a word to me in 4 years. One IED and I lost both of my kids. I want to see my son again.

On your time not on camera time Check out him singing on the kelly clarkson show that shows how hard it was for him to sing live Blake shelton and Gwen stefani (I'm sure others did to) attend his boy's funeral. They said where do you want us to sit they didn't want any special treatment.

As a commenter below pointed out, he first performed this at the Grand Ole Opry and said that was the first and only time anyone would ever hear it, then legendary singer Ricky Skaggs, as well as other country singers said this song needed to be heard... Blake Shelton, who had just come out with God's Country even told fans to buy this song and put it at the top of the charts over his own song when Craig finally recorded and released it
