Thanks for making this video! Why does your simulation show a win or loose on the 1st roll if it's not 7,11,2,3,12? If the 1st roll is not one of those #s, shouldn't it be just establishing the point? I'm confused how your simulation is calculating a win or loose situation.

Each line of the spreadsheet, and each blip on the graph, represents a win or loss decision, whether one roll or many rolls of the dice are required to reach that decision.

Great video, I have made your simulation in my excel spreadsheet! Can you show me how to do the same for the Don't Pass player?

Hi , thank you for spending time to make and post this video ! My question is - Is the law of large numbers applies using the random number generator for the both die separately as the most common combination of the dice is 7 and that combination should appear statistically every 6 rolls as per that law. Would be nice to have an option where one can play with different ratios. For example, I would like to see how the P/L changes if I can roll 7 on average every 7 or 8 rolls statistically. Regards : si

Thanks for leaving a comment. It is certainly possible to set up the spreadsheet as you describe, but I recommend against it because it would not represent a real situation.

You can press the F9 key several times, and 7 will naturally come up less often than usual in some of the runs, and more than usual in others.

Hello, Iam am trying to set up a formula which uses dont pass bets with max odds (6X) only on the (4,10,5 &9) Can you help me. Also I am not understanding how the number is repeated for the pass line win.

I recommend using =RANDBETWEEN(1,6) That's it's purpose. You don't even need two columns. =RANDBETWEEN(1,6)+RANDBETWEEN(1,6) will give you your dice roll. gives you an integer.

No. In the long run you will lose.

Why don't you just use Randbetween(1,6)? Isn't this much easier? With Rand() you face the problem that 0 is included while 1 is excluded. Your RAND()*6 should have been added a 1 to make it perfectly random! Then you'll need to round it down! Otherwise it's a great video. P.S.: I just saw the lowest comment where this function was suggested. However I like the way you show both dices (like in a real game)! If you'd show only the total of the two die than you could not even tell whether it's a hard or an easy 4, 6, 8 or 10 ... :D

I don't think this is a good representation of dice roll using RANDOM. Your charts will be different if you truly use the stats of a die being rolled. With 2 die 7 will appear much more than 12 and 2. 7 should appear 6 times out of 36 rolls and 2,12 should only show up 1 of 36 rolls (on avg). So the random function is NOT good

The way I set up the simulation, it works exactly as you describe. 7 comes up about one-sixth of the time and 2 or 12 comes up about 1/36 of the time. There are random variations, just like throwing real dice.

Try running the simulation yourself in Excel and you can verify that it works correctly.

@@blackjackcalc Yes, your correct, and I was wrong. I created a very simple simulation and the 7 did come up much more than the rest of the numbers. Thank You!
