While the environment destruction detail is highly impressive, the vehicle destruction is way less than MS1 and MS2. Those first two games had vehicles smashing into many parts and that was awesome. Apocalypse is just too simplified in its vehicular crashes. Maybe it was a sacrifice for the dynamic environment?

Yep, you're right, there was so much extra environmental animations, physics etc going on, plus the extra horsepower needed for the improved graphics that unfortunately the wreck phsyics had to take a hit

Yeah I noticed that too. Looks like the deformation is still there but WAY less destruction/flying parts/particles overall, no more shifting dynamic camera angles. It's even made more clear with that big stupid (X) button on screen, like, "let's get going come on". Crashes in Pacific Rift and this is day and night.
