Good lesson. I think there is also another lesson that could be taught. Check with local operators or tower about procedures in the area. Not unusual at Essendon to get early left turn instructions for 26 due to tulla traffic, a normal Vy takeoff would of been fine in those pipers then turn when you're at a reasonable height. I think if the pilot had of gotten a briefing in this case they would of expected the instruction and the stress caused situation could be averted.
