Seconds on the comment of BarrelOfRun1. I am 51 years old and have fished south Florida all my life. Until about fifteen or twenty years ago, motorboats couldn't run the airboat trails (Everglades too). Now with the 200hp motors and specialty props they can run anywhere on the O. It is unnecessarily dangerous. Especially at 50 mph. Try running in the predawn or afterevening hours and run into bassboat on the trail! I have and I avoided the hit by mere feet. Bassboat didn't stop to see if I was alright. Tempted to run him down and beat his a*s. His lights were down below the level of the grass so that does not help. This should be stopped !!!! Airboats, like mine sit the driver 6 feet high to where you can see plus we run flags off out cages that reach twelve feet. It is just common sense that ** if ** a bassboat is gong to run an airboat trail, the law should be that they should have to fly a 24" square flo. orange flag twelve feet above the deck of their boats. Really the airboat trails should be marked and off limits.
