7:57 Im 18 and have been watching Nascar since i was 4 years old.. With the state that the sport is in now it really makes me miss the summers when i was growing up, watching Nascar every Sunday on TNT and ESPN. (no offense to the current broadcast teams on FOX and NBC) but the sport was definitely in a better place 10 years ago. I will never forget some of the races i watched back when TNT and ESPN still had the mid/late season coverage, i feel as if the wonderful broadcasting crews that they both had helped solidify the memories... I have no clue what the point of this was, hopefully someone might agree but i mostly just wanted to vent how much i miss the Nascar from 2005-2014ish (i probably dont enjoy it as much anymore bc i legit idolized Tony Stewart) but if you read even half of this... Thanks ig 🤷🏻♂️

J Simon So many mini docs on YT explain why it’s been shit on. F1, GT or Rallies are where the excitement is at now unfortunately (and that coming from someone never huge into nascar, but i did like how it was mostly about driver vs driver unlike say F1 where they space out quickly minus the big names).

newname Ive been watching nascar for 15 years now, back in 2008-2012ish i would watch every single event from practice to qualifying and every race across all 3 nascar series... When i happen to watch a race today it’s quite obvious why the sport has declined so much from the early 00’s
@gchampi2
5 жыл бұрын
@@jsimon6467 Totally agree with you on the decline of nascar. I've been watching since the mid 90's, and I'd say the decline is largely down to two things. The Chase format, and stage racing. The chase drove many longtime fans away, and stage racing killed it. If you want to see the best racing on the planet, look to Australia. The V8 Supercars series. 5L V8's, great tracks (Bathurst!), real racing, great support races, and best of all, no ad breaks during the races.

4:30 side draft is ruining races. Effective now that when the cars 2nd on back use it, it lets the leader pull so far ahead it’s impossible to catch him unless there’s a caution. I have watched so many races where the side draft let the first place car win by a huge margin. NASCAR needs to add something or take something away from the body of these cars to make it less effective. My opinion.

Realize that nationwide lost a lot of fans, like a lot. No joke. When it’s name was nationwide it was popular and a lot of fans watched nation wide. Now since it’s xfinity not many people watch it. I think it’s because they changed the name (my opinion). Idk what happened to the nationwide/xfinity series.

Or it could be that people don’t like to watch the Cup guys race the xfinity series which takes away the predictability of who will win. Also it’s the fact that overall NASCAR has been losing viewers because Trucks don’t get many viewers either and are still lower than the Xfinity series.
