The BOV supposed to open when u let go off the gas only to release the extra air. You shouldn’t be able hear the BOV while pressing the gas u loosing boost pretty much.
@Bookiemouncher

It’s not a turbo, I’m p sure it’s just for sound, superchargers are directly driven by the crankshaft that turns a belt that spins another pulley on the supercharger that compresses air into the engine. As opposed to turbos. Which ya know. Everyone knows what turbskis do

Car sounds so sweet chris! 🔥🔥That bov looks kinda low to the ground. Be careful around puddles cause back in the day I had a 04' srt4 and some shop installed the bov low to the ground slightly lower than yours and one day it rained a good amount and I went slowly through a big puddle of water at the lights and water got sucked into the engine within seconds and engine was dunzo seconds after that 🥺😥

Chris, I had a kraftwerks kit on my 14brz with a turbo smart BOV and at idle or off throttle it’s normal for the air to be released and then under throttle load it should close all the way. That’s what you want to happen for a supercharger kit.

Cool channel. I am watching the "The FRS Is FINALLY Fast Now! (Tuning The Supercharged FRS)" video. I have a 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8 automatic that has 58,000 miles because I drove it to school everyday for over an hour. I think I have owned it for three years now? Unfortunately, I wasted ten years of my life going to school to get a bachelor's degree in the U.S. in December 2018. I did an amazing Summer internship in 2019. Now I have no job and not making any money during coronavirus apocalypse tribulation. For the past few months, I have been learning more about cars and making a parts list for my Genesis Coupe to get it to 440+ wheel power someday. It doesn't look like I will have the money anytime soon. Over a week ago, I start looking into the GT86/BRZ/FR-S. When I see these cars on the road, I usually think, "It's another annoying kid in a brz/frs. Nothing amazing. move on." Which they usually are those kids. But the more research I do and videos I watch, I think I would rather have this car than my Genesis right now. Only if I had extra money for mods. Let me tell you the main reasons. 1. Yes, those are usually annoying kids who drive them, but this car has so much support and modifications that it can be transformed into a car that is beyond what high school and college kids drive. 2. Again, this car has support. All of the support for the Genesis Coupe is very small because the car is no longer manufactured, and the Infiniti Q60 is a better deal than Genesis cars now. The few turbo kits and modifications are very expensive (Remnant Performance being the cheapest and best I would be able to do someday). It is difficult to find anyone in Dallas area who works on Genesis Coupe like the they do with Subaru and the Evo cars, Mustangs, etc. 3. This car is super light and apparently handles well in turns. 4. There are stage 3 built motor blocks that I could have a shop install on this BRZ/86 car, and if I add a turbo kit and ECU and other supporting mods on top of that, I could reach the 440 to 500 whp I hope to experience someday. Not only this, but a car that weights this much and had that much wheel power would smoke some Porsches. I saw a video of a BRZ/86 beating a GT-R (GTR is one of my favorite cars). Of course the GTR was probably not heavily tuned, but the thought of that as a daily driver is what I need.

Im not 100% sure but im pretty sure its supposed to be open. With a supercharger your pulley is whats boosting your car. And if its not open while idling.. it’s basically putting boost pressure on your throtle body. Anyways dope video hahah

Engines should be pulling vacuum at idle. It should be open just slightly. Even on turbochargers the bov will be slightly open.
@vincentamerena7302
4 жыл бұрын
no cause the vacuum pressure should be the same as the intake pressure which is on the other side of the bov which keeps it closed untill you let off the gas

Someone prbably already mentioned but your blow off valve should be closed when your idling until you hit boost. If it stays open that means theres a boost leak.

@@chris_borges okay so ia mawrong... heres a link www.svtperformance.com/threads/is-your-blow-off-valve-partially-open-at-idle.935024/ A bit down the page someone comments saying this. "BOV should always be open, as soon as you put enough load on it shuts closed and thats how you see boost. Otherwise you would be in boost everywhere you drove (SC creates boost at every RPM range)." Since Superchargers are directly connoected to the crank in your engine there should be a small opening. Once you hit enough throttle, ythe BOV will close and youll be in boost. So small gap IS normal
