So sorry we're just seeing this now but yes - we make this and most of our lenses for Sony E (along with Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Pentax, Sony A & Micro 4/3). Thanks for the great review, Robert!

What composer do i need to buy if i get the Creative Bokeh Optic? Do i need another optic with the composer, like the double glass, or is the creative bokeh optic an optic on its own?

The Lensbaby twist 60 is also cool. Use a Nikon version and adapt it on a Sony body with a Fotodiox shift adapter. The center of the swirly bokeh can be adjusted with this setup.

Exactly the review I needed, with excellent practical testing and results. Especially interested in the way you maintained lens focus. Just to be clear; are saying that the lens is still 100% manual focus? Thanks. Subscribed and liked 😊.

yes it's 100% manual.

@Robert Hall Photography, super nice video. I actually happen to own a Sweet 35 and Composer Pro for Nikon F, however recently switched to Sony and was wondering which lens adapter you are using? Can you recommend one? I was thinking to get a cheap adapter since the lensbabies don't electronically communicate with the camera anyway.

Not Robert, but I own several vintage lens that require adapters to my Z body. No electronic communication. Fully manual. An inexpensive adapter will work just fine.

If I was going to purchase my first lens baby for weddings and portraits, which would you suggest? Also have you tried the new omnifilters and if so have you done a review? TIA!

I would probably go for the velvet or the twirl. And get as close to your favorite focal length as possible. As for the omni filters, it's my first time seeing those. Personally, I'm over the "put some glass in front of lens" thing these days. I did it a lot as a wedding photographer and thought it was an amazing way to get rid of a distracting element in the scene, but after doing it for a while it just became boring for me. I do wish a system like this omni filter existed back when I was doing it!

when using the sweet 35 do you recommend the camera be in aperture priority or in total manual mode?
@robhallphoto

I've only ever used manual.
@WMedl

This is a complete manual lens without any lens-camera communication. So aperture priority CANNOT work!
@tracylynnw

WMedl I’ve always used aperture priority with these types of optic lenses, they work just fine.

@@WMedl A mode works because SS and ISO are controlled by the camera always, not the lens.

@@zenkomusic Yes, sorry my fault, it is shutter priority that does not work!

I like this look. You indicated that it was hard to achieve sharp focus with a DSLR. I would love to add this to my Nikon, but will I be able to get it to focus where I want?
@robhallphoto

Depends on how old your dslr is. With something newer with a decent live view function your can still zoom in and be precise. That's what I used to do with my macro lens. It's just not as easy/fast as a mirrorless.
