Yep, that "modern" building is the old Rothesay Academy, built in 1959 and vacant since around 2007 when it moved to new premises. There's been some kind of school on that site since forever and the 1959 construction replaced a fire-gutted previous one.

That was one of your best yet, Scott. Jeezo, midgies in November! The Scottish midge is a hardy beast, for sure. You'll be ready for another sausage roll in Auld's after that. Next time you go, maybe it'll have been renamed "Young's", and it'll be rammed. Maybe not in November though. But that was great. Thanks for taking us along!

Fab video. My youngest and I cycled up the road past the golf course on our way from the Largs campsite (which you walked past in your over the moors video) to the Bute ferry. It's quite a hill on a tandem with full camping kit, but nicer than being close passed on the fast main road.

I'm happy that you came to Dunoon and hope you come back during the warmer months. Dunoon is part of the mainland and I think people assume that it isn't due to the ferries. There is a road that leads to Inveraray, Oban, Luss, Dumbarton and Arrochar.

Thanks Scottie. Another great video programme. (yes, I still spell programme the old fashioned way). And photographers always sought out hills in the past to take their panoramic shots from, because people liked horizons. Thats's why so many cities have elevated lookouts. In Dundee on my pilgrimage to where my dad was born (Invergowrie) smack in the middle of Dundee we found Law Hill. It gave us magnificent unhindered views of Dundee and Tayside. As we soaked up the view on a late spring morning, a wee rabbit grazed at our feet. A magic moment to treasure.
