@@jasonwright1648 $1800-$2200 weekly “after all my expenses” average I would consider to be good for myself. Everyone’s financial situation is different. Less than $1500 for a week of work doing this I would consider a bad week.

Coming out of L.A. one night I had them throw two beer bottles at me - one bounced off the side of the hood - the other landed on top of the hood and rolled up to hit the windshield - thankfully nothing got broken - idiots and A-holes are all over - doesn't matter which part of the country you are in "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing." Hey Rex- really enjoy the information and quality editing you put into your videos. I sit at a desk all day as a computer software guy so I live vicariously through all the professional truck drivers on KZitem. I've thought about trucking once my kids are older as a career change but that's still a long way off. Thanks for keeping it real and showing all sides of "the grind".

Most accidents happen because of people who can't merge. Or wait that last second. Can figure out a remedy for thand get people to get to their exit so they don't have to cross lanes and get into an accent before they get to their exit. That's the majority of the accidents. People can people can't merge Safely.

Odds are you won't see this but the reason you're getting better fuel mileage is because its a mid-roof. A highrise will cost you more fuel, like your Pete did.

Rex I have talked to S. leasing about lease purchase. I know you can put a bigger down payment on new truck but could not pin down the max allowed $$$$ They ask how much I would like to put down I said $185000-$220000 she said no they are not set up for that. As you can tell I would like to buy a new truck cash. If you could find out the max $$$ down they would accept would be great. Thanks for the vids.

Be careful when leasing, regardless. I did a lease purchase with a different company. The buyout us what you have to watch out for. I had a 2023 Peterbilt 389 fully loaded. $2820/month for 7 years + $90,000 buyout. A truck they bought for $165,000 would have ended costing me just shy of $300,000 and the truck would be 7 years old. I liked the truck itself but the fuel mileage sucked and the Paccar engine was garbage, plus being castrated at 61 mph was not fun

One big difference I noticed is "" back in the day "", we made the decisions. Routes, where and when to get fuel, normally? Unless we were super heavy we'd just fill up. As far as routing? Rand McNally, & instincts, past experiences. Fish looks good! Used to stop at a place in VA for fried catfish to take along for the ride. Been hit by pumpkins and bottles and eggs. And? Chunks of tire. Be careful! It's pumpkin season! Safe travels and God bless you!

Rex it would take a piece of sharp solid object. A semi truck tires have way to much air pressure to puncture by a bottled glass lol. Much love you could run over a parking spot full of glass and probably drive away.

I had a route that took me through Atlanta every Wed during 5pm rush hour traffic, and Washington DC every Friday during 5 pm rush hour. I also had to deal I-70 through OH whenever they were known as the CA of the East (55 mph and very strict). IL also had a 55 mph limit, but it was a lot more relaxed going through there than OH. DC traffic wasn’t fun every week.
