Fishing is an international language. If you like tight lines and bending rods, we're automatically family. The same held true for my two French clients. They hail from the southern region of France where the giant Wels catfish lurk in the lakes and rivers. You may have seen the videos with Silure in the title. Well, that would be French for catfish. I brushed up on some French before they landed, and thought I'd come away from the trip with some more french under my belt, but naturally, because I was taught by anglers, I learned more bad words. These homme were fantastic anglers. They were sight fishing, making perfect casts, and setting the hook like professionals. I barely had to work, which was a treat. They caught a crazy miami slam. Largemouth, Peacock bass, snook, mayan cichlids, and a giant bluegill. It was amazing fun on their first day and I was looking forward to day number 2 with them in the everglades.
