@Dasalottacheese

@@dolguldur4706 Depends mainly on the load, you'll want more pressure in a loaded GQ wagon than an unloaded single cab ute. I'm running 34psi in the back of my unloaded singlecab luxy on 32s, but step it up to 38 when the canopy is on if that helps. My recommendation is play with it. run it at 35psi, and watch the tyre. if it looks like the outer edges of the tyre are wearing a little quicker than the centre, pump it up a little. if the centre is wearing quicker than the edges, drop a little air out. Easiest way to watch closely is to get a tread depth gauge.

Wind resistance is a big one, roof racks etc create drag which in turn increases fuel consumption. Another one is is tyre pressures. On top of them two don't carry excessive amounts of stuff you wont use or need, the old trick of adding a sticker to each item you take away, as you use it, remove the sticker. When you get home anything with a sticker still on wasn't used and therefore is wasted weight carried.

4 little tips that will make a big difference. 1. Run the correct tyre pressure 2. Remove drag from your roof. Take off the max tracks and other things you can from the roof if you don’t need it. 3. Clean out your rig and take out all the things you don’t need on a daily basis, spare parts camping gear etc. it’s easy to just leave it in the car but it might only seem a little thing but reduce the weight. 4. Probably the biggest is drain your water tank when you get home. if your just driving around town you don’t need water and only fill it up when you go away. People will save potentially up 100kgs or more in weight

I've recently put a new canopy on my D-max. It went from 8.2 litres per 100kms to a consistent 8.1. I was quite surprised as I thought it would have gone up. I then fitted roof racks and an awning. It went up to 9 liters per 100 kms. As the roof racks are held on with eight M8 bolts into rivnuts I'm considering removing the racks and storing them under the tray (just enough room!) and installing them as needed. It's a ten minute job and will save me about seven litres of fuel per tank. A saving of about $15.50 per tank. I sound like a tight arse but at twenty five or so tanks per year that's just shy of $400 I could spend elsewhere.

The next thing is having larger diameter rear axle stud's and the new ARB rear locker installed. The ARB bar work has the original 1994 white paint and is in dire need of some freshening up. Jocko did an amazing job with his trip and the cooking bit wat OFF THE HOOK, he showed he deffinatley deserves to rock the backwoods with you both. He has a future in this segment look forward enough to keep him happy with where he is and build his future alongside yours, rather than off on his own. Hello from Colorado, USA! Love your channel, been a subscriber for a couple years now (found you during my fight with Pancreatic Cancer). So we are coming out of our winter season and during that time I’ve had to drop approximately 600 to 1000 pounds of weight in the bed of the truck and 50psi in all 6 tires as it is a DRW. The roads get very slick with black ice and packed snow. Normally my 5.9 L ram Cummins diesel gets 19/22 miles per gallon. Of course it suffers during winter dropping it to about 16mpg. I have a 35gal tank and at current diesel prices of $4.49/gal in my area it costs $157/tank. My advice is to lighten the vehicle for better fuel economy. In the warm months it weighs (with full tank,tools, etc) 8100lbs. Winter it sits at sometimes 9100lbs. I also air up my tires to 70psi rears, 75psi in front. Make sure all the necessary maintenance is up to snuff all year round. I will also set my tuner to performance mode which, believe it or not, gets me the best fuel economy. I've tested each of the 6 modes with a tank of fuel and hand calculated mpg. I also keep my right foot out of the loud pedal😁. So that's my way of helping my fuel economy. Cheers from my garage (shed)! I will have a beer in your stead as I prep my motorcycle for a nice sunny day and ride later this afternoon.

Over my Christmas/New Years public holidays I spent all day every day preparing and raptor lining my entire Ute. Took months of planning to find the colour I wanted. Well, I finally finished and absolutely loved it. I parked the Ute in the garage for the recommended 72hours to cure and then decided to drive it to work for the first time only to slide out on a wet oily roundabout and smashed the entire passenger side in. I've since replaced the front door with a wrecker door and resprayed but I still need to replace the rear door and don't have any raptor left so this would be great to finally finish my project. Thanks legends

Some of the fuel saving tips I do myself; 1. Full tires to full pressure or more! When I go on a road trip I fill my 35” tires to 45psi to keep the drag down 2. Lockout hubs! Less rotational mass through your drivetrain will increase your mpg 3. For pickups equip a bed cover or canopy! I used to have a bed canopy and it increased my mpg a couple points at higher speeds 4. Clean your air filter! Having a clean air filter makes the engine work less for its air and produces more power with the fuel it uses 5. Fuel additive/injector cleaner! I personally use Lucas upper cylinder lubricant and noticed a difference in the efficiency of the engine after running it in my 1987 Toyota pickup

One of those raptor kits would help me out alot. I am in the middle of swapping a dual cab body onto my 6.5 chev converted 80 series. However the chopped body is red and has no front clip with it due to being involved in a nose to tail in its last life. I can't find any panels the right shade of red so I plan on using all the front panels off my old white body and painting them with raptor along with giving the body a coat so they match. I'm not much of painter but if raptor is magic as Graham said, I think I can pull it off. Keep up the great work guys, you do amazing stuff on and off the tracks, that Jeep came up a treat. Warms the heart to see you giving back 👍

Absolutely awesome. Not alot of things get to me but stuff like this always does the trick. I had a TJ Wrangler as my first vehicle. It was my daily until the recent fuel price hikes, traded it for a 4th gen Honda prelude, no regrets.

Would love a bit of Raptor as this year hubby and I are putting some much needed love back into our 2010 Patrol. After watching how you guys did up the young fellas Patrol, we are going to bite the bullet and raptor the whole car, we plan on doing the tray and bar work first. We also plan on doing our builders trailer and the tray on our Colly. Can’t wait to see how she turns out!

Big thumbs up to you guys, making a dream come true for Levi. Got a few fuel saving tips - running correct tyre pressures on the blacktop - I believe this is a big one. Driving style. Drive moderately and keeping an eye on excessive acceleration if it’s not needed. Go easy on the right toe. Save the fuel for the tracks. - removing excess weight from the vehicle if it doesn’t need to be there if it is easy to remove. - servicing. Keep your services up to date (seems like a bit of a no brainer.) Keep it running smoothly with clean filters and clean oil. Get to know your vehicles and keep on top of any little gremlins. Keep up the top work 🍻🤙

Hey lads, would love a bit of raptor to paint a tray that I will be modifying, also a big tip for saving fuel at the moment is by simply just by comparing Service stations prices and looking to find the cheapest fuel, fuel up as much fuel as you can before the prices go up even more 😬

On road chin spoilers help a ton! Look at RAM and Ford for examples and they can be removed when you get to the trails. Also partially covering air damns while monitoring temp gauges to see how much is too much and how much is ok.

Hi Shauno and Graham! I inherited a 2010 Hilux from my dad. We shipped it over from South Africa when we moved to Australia and this Hilux has done trips many cars haven’t. It’s been through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and now it’s been in every state in Australia apart from ACT. Safe to say this Hilux has done it’s fair share of touring. Our family has loved the car, and all the places it’s taken us. But now the bar work is looking old and damaged, and I think a fresh coat of raptor would make it look brand new and toughen it up for me to take it on some of my own adventures. Big thanks for your videos and tips!

Fuel saving tips. The usual things like oil changes when you should and check tire pressure regularly. Only run the air con if you have to. The one thing alot of people over look is the air filter. Make sure it stays as clean as possible. A good fuel management system is always a great idea.

Great fuel saving tip like 4wdn, tyre pressure can make a difference. Not filling up both tanks can make a difference, good maintenance on the engine helps it run as efficiently as possible and don’t drive like a drongo. If heading away make sure you have lockers to help with traction with good tyres to keep lower revs if possible

A few tips which I used and still using: (1). "freeing" my 4 x 4 wherever I can, down hill, approaching red robots, stop streets.....and many other places. Taking my foot off the accelerator.....saves a bit - every bit helps! (2). When going to town, make a list of all your stops: buying groceries, going to the garage, going to school picking up the kids....plan a 1-stop [planned route] instead of taking 4 or more trips. (3). Km/h on the high ways: 90 km/h - max. 100 km/h. I even go as low as 80 km/h when the highways are quiet (keep in the low speed lane). Off road 80 km/h max. Regards, Joseph (Cape Town, South Africa)(1988 FJ62 Land Cruiser).
