I just want to say I appreciate that the stage's ending time matches the video length, in both this video and the last one. The first time, I thought it might somehow be a crazy coincidence, but now that it's happened twice in a row, I really appreciate the small detail.

@MOORE4U2

My only gripe with the final gravity not-room is that the controls just don't feel right. Changing the camera angle to always be behind Sonic and always show him right-side up would solve this, and I think it would present a different sort of challenge to the room. Those wacky spindash jumps you could pull off and potentially get yourself stuck with become a lot more appealing when you see it with a normal perspective. Making the camera twist and turn with Sonic also just makes the navigation confusing. Some would say it's unnecessary frustration for an already-frustrating stage. I'd say git gud.

I guess they didn't have the camera flip because it better conveys that ONLY gravity is changing. Perhaps if the camera flipped, some less observant people would think they'd been transported to a new room entirely. But I do agree, having the enemies floating upside-down makes the gravity gimmic a lot more exciting!
@cyberfoxvii6253

All that'd be needed to fix that, though, is to have the camera visibly rotate during the transition instead of "teleporting" into the new orientation like in the video.

This is so cool! I never really knew Crazy Gadget had so many secrets. I would love to see you doing these videos but for Treasure Hunting levels (I love them!) and how they naturally teaches It's mechanics in their first levels I recently made a Retranslation Mod for ALL +3000 hints the game has, It's impossible to just analyze these levels without also taking a look at the hints because they are an important aspect of the gameplay and how stages are designed. And they had a LOT of translation problems in English that doesn't occur in original Japanese, Mad Space hints are practically broken from how bad it was localized. The mod is on Gamebanana in case you want to check it out! Love your videos!! (Also I believe Hidden Base It's the best Shooting level, that one would be cool too!)

The first time I entered that “gravity room” I pulled the down switch because the camera angle and Sonic being on the ceiling, told me that was the way to go, and fell into the abyss. From Sonic’s perspective, the Up switch looks more like an obvious trap, which was probably the initial intent.
@RedRemover5000

I think the gravity area looks nauseating from Sonic's perspective compared to the original. I don't know about the rest of the level, most of the pros you've pointed out have more to do with things that could be done that would be more obvious than actual enhancements to the flow of the level, but it would rob the level of some of what makes it stand out from all other SA2 levels. I'd have to play it from Sonic's perspective myself to find out for sure, but as someone who likes the original, I don't see following Sonic's POV as being an improvement.

I’ve never really had too many problems with the anti gravity in crazy gadget, it was mostly just the controls and camera not feeling right, especially in the multi gravity area, where it always just felt like the controls would suddenly switch and it would throw me into the bottomless pit, that and it’s very stop and start which kills the momentum I get, I’d have to actually play the section with the corrected camera angle to judge if it’s better or not, but it makes the stage looks so much more comprehensible

My biggest issue with the gravity room wasn't so much the gravity puzzle itself, but the aesthetic. It reminded me of Tetris, which is my least favorite game. Also, it doesn't really fit the look of the rest of the level. By the way, I think Eggman calls it a "room" because there are bars marking the boundaries of the area. That's definitely not what defines a room because there are no walls or ceiling, but I'm going with that.

The camera change helps a lot with the tetris room, but my main problem with the tetris room is that there's only really one safe way to go through the entire area, and it encourages slow, deliberate gameplay. It's not like the awesome chase sequence from City Escape, or the awesome split-second platforming challenge to get that PERFECT in Green Forest, or even the rocket-launch from Metal Harbor. It just feels clunky and slow compared to the other finales.

The camera is a lot better right this, which is why later games usually used this. The only camera shenanigans I would've pulled would be that middle section where you pop out upside-down: that might've been a really neat little trick, and it'd be unique within the level to that area, therefore making it a new and interesting mechanic. I would also preserve the upside-down ring-dash.

I really liked how the level looks when the camera follows Sonic's perspective, it really looks sick, but in gameplay I still prefer how it looks originally, because it seems to me like a mechanic that was made to make it difficult for the player to have to learn how play with this new challenge, like in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I see it exactly like the Death Egg Zone Act 2 gimmick (the differences is that in the Death Egg it's 2D and you don't walk on walls, only on the floor and ceiling), but I I still see it as the same mechanic.

having the camera match sonic's gravity likely wouldn't have been feasible for the devs. the camera would have to be rolled on its z-axis which probably wasn't considered when programming the cam system as this never happens anywhere else in the game (except some cutscenes, i think), and speaking from personal experience, when you try to rotate an object on all 3 dimensional axes, the math gets messy. the camera in the final game was possibly the product of cut costs

From a practical standpoint, I can definitely see the appeal of playing from Sonic's POV, but in the puzzle area, I felt like the camera flipping around with you kinda hinders the impact of actually being upside down (a common complaint with Mario Kart 8's implication of anti-gravity). The puzzle area just seems like it was made to be viewed with the normal camera. The main problem I personally ran into with this camera was depth perception issues caused by the exact angle the camera is looking at Sonic from. On my first playthrough I found myself struggling to understand how big of a gap I was about to clear or what angle I should be holding to clear them.
