It's a pretty awesome laser and easy to use and can do most things that would help a leatherworker.

I have a 10 watt laser but I haven't tried anything involving leather, because I wasn't sure where to start. Thanks for the tips and the inspiration!

you can do a lot of things with a 10W laser, you can engrave and make acrilic stamps and cut thin leather and plywood. It will help you a lot

Great video! Thanks for taking the time to put it together and for the information it contains. I have been curious about laser machines for my leather work, and now I am more convinced of it's capability.

It's cool and interesting but what attracts me to leatherworking is the human skill. The hand that creates. The millennia old techniques and tools. Modern metals in blades etc are the exception. I would never use powered presses let alone a laser. I dont like sewing machines or even die cuts from a clicker press. Designs on leather are only impressive when a human makes them with stamping/tooling tools over hours after years of practice. Machines take away from any artisans skill and years of practice. Otherwise it may aswell be made from artificial materials. But it is interesting to see the modern extent of technology.
