Well! Thank you for saving another sole here, yes your video does save lives! Brilliant and logical way of doing it. I’m very great full fort your time and tips. I was so happy when it started to print, yet then it decided to print right tight in the front left corner?! I’m shore the model was centered in Slicer, yet maybe I missed a setting in there somewhere? This wouldn’t surprise me! So had to abort, as the auto level sensor was bumping onto its own wheel! I remember that Slicer asked something about the start position, yet had no idea then, there was no profile at all for this product, kind of strange!

Well shit...I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head here. I've been following the Creality instructions and my ender 5 plus always prints that line from front to back down the left side of the print bed, then another half-assed line diagonal from the first line towards the middle. And I always feel like I have to stand there for the beginning of the each print because once the print begins and it prints the first little border around the print, the head gets all tripped up when it tries to pass over that second diagonal line and then the head starts dragging the already printed filament behind it. Then it's a big shit show I'm chasing the head around with a pair of needle nose pliers trying to grab the dingleberry hanging from its ass. Then I have this issue of the prints not wanting to stick even though I've cleaned the print bed and done just about everything people suggest online (except for hit that Z Home button. I think the print head is raising back up after I level it causing the head to be too far away from the print bed. This thing definitely has he me pulling my hair out on regular occasions. I'm an electrician and I only use it to print Lutron Cassetta wireless remote wall brackets, at least thus far that's about it. But the only filament that has printed successfully for me so far is the cheap opaque white shit that came with the printer and now that that's gone I'm using some Overture PLA+ and I though the new filament was the issue until now. THANKS MAN! You saved my printer from getting thrown out the window.

@@toshlarue yeah I don’t really mess with the whole cura slicer thing too much. It makes my head hurt just looking at it, and don’t even get me started on watching some of these videos put out teaching you how to use cura, sooo monotone and it’s usually like a 2 hour long video. I’m sleeping before I get to 10 minutes. So I typically just do what you do, put the file on a thumb drive and do everything from the printer. Only thing is that the printer is at my shop so I don’t typically sit there and watch the prints until the end, I’m usually out on service calls. I usually print like 6 brackets at a time and for the first time ever today I tried to do 20 brackets because they’re small and 20 fits on the print bed just fine. I started the print, did my usual dingleberry chasing, and then watched a little bit of the first layer go down and everything looked just fine so I left to take a service call. I come back and the glass print bed is on the tile floor (printer is on a countertop about 36” high) I’m not sure how it didn’t break, and there’s a ball of blue filament surrounding the entire print head and half printed thin brackets everywhere on the floor. So I pulled it all apart and cleaned everything up and then I saw your video and fixed all my first world problems.

Lol nvm nothing sticks anymore, PLA or ABS. I've tried every combination between 190° to 220° nozzle and between 50° and 70° on the bed for hatchbox 1.75 PLA. At best I get corner warping and stringy 1st layer (or brim/skirt I don't know the difference whether 1st layer is before or after the brim/skirt because nobody really explains which is which) or what I normally get is nothing sticking to the bed or major clumping on the nozzle. I've made adjustments to the bed height. I don't know what else I can do. There's only so many hours in a day that I can run test prints.

Thanks! I turned off auto levelling until I had adjusted everything first. The real take away from this was adjusting the Z to get the nozzle close in the middle, doing the aux levelling and THEN turning on auto levelling, doing the measuring THEN turning auto levelling back off before printing. There's definitely a bug with auto levelling when it's left on. I had exactly the issues you described, including where auto levelling freaks out and almost destroys your bltouch in the corner. I'll be upgrading to a 12864 display which can run the latest marlin and not Creality's shitty firmware.

I will be honest. The 5 plus now is a little outdated as far as speed and software now. The way it's built is perfect. The structure is great for speed and printing. You do need to upgrade the motherboard, Firmware, silicone springs. You will also want to look into a direct drive I use micro swiss. Decide now if you want linear rails to get the right direct drive. The 5 plus I also added a pei sheet. I have one 5 plus and 4 ender 3 max. The 5 plus has been my most dependable printer. I have not level or anything in a long time. You do need some upgrades, but after it is very dependable. The prince for the 5 plus new is not worth it now. Finding one used for 2 to 300 is. Now you can get a bigger printer with upgraded for cheaper mostly bed slinger. I do love the 5 plus structure. This is a great option now amzn.to/40avFSW

I've had the hot end move across and hit the left hand side of the top gantry, almost destroying the bLtouch and gouge a groove on left side on the hotbed. @@GisforGraphico I'm live right now come to chat. You need to add the code in cura or slicer if you want auto level on. Without the m420 codes saves your auto level mesh. So you don't have to do a 16 point check before every print. I prefer not to do that check every print. Just keep after level of after you use it in measure. The only time to hit Z home is after you set the Z point. So when you 1st go into level move Z to the paper. Then once good , hit Z home to save. I have noticed after measuring with the auto level. You may need to check Z height and move closer. After the 16 point check. Hit Z home and see if the gap is still good. If not fix gap then hit Z home. Now if you did this now you nozzle is on plate. Just exit level and move bed from nozzle and go print.

@@toshlarue The bed leveling bars. Theres one attached to the bed and the other one attached to z platform. and has the spring through it. I make the gap between both sets of bars. By the time Im done leveling the gap between the two aforementioned bars in the back are offfrom the front gaps,. The far back left corner gap is nearly imperceptible while the right back gap is slightly shorter than the front left and right gaps. The left and right front gaps are almost even however. This results in my printed part thicker in the back and shorter in the front .

Just move the z closer if to far. You can do that when you print and keep auto level off unless you add the right codes

Hi, I have a question. when I home my Ender 5 Plus and go to the leveling screen, I see that rather than all zeros, I see some small number in all the spots that you show zeros. Looking at minute 6:51 in your video. Is that normal or not. How do I get it to be all zeros.
@toshlarue
2 жыл бұрын
Don't stress on all zeros. What I look for is the 1st & 2nd numbers being close to the same. You just want them close as possible. The BL touch will help with offsets. Do a text print after level and see were you are at. Sometimes you need to more the z a little closer or further away. After you do a auto level hit z home. Sometimes there is a gap, fix the gap hit zhome to save and go print. I am moving this month so in January I plan on making more videos explaining

Hey, have you ever ran into an issue when you go to level the corners and one corner the nut is completely loose and still doesn’t rub the paper/shim? Does that mean the bed would be warped? Thanks in advance
@toshlarue
3 жыл бұрын
No not warped and yes that can happen. Do you have shims? If not just turn the knobs tell each side is down all the way. Back off each corner by 5 to 10 turns. This will give you enought play to adjust the wheels. Just need to set it up so you have the enough to move close or away from nozzle. I asked about shim because I will tighten then down then use shims to measure the gap on each corner not the nozzle bud the metal between bed and frame. Wish I could share a pic. All this is is you just have each side to lose so you have no play to adjust now. So just do as I said then Home printer and do the level procedure again. Also get silicone springs it's the best for holding the level and cutting down on vibration

Before you do this open SD card delete Eeprom file then insert back into printer. That is because your Z is set wrong. When I 1st got my printer I did this also and 😱. You need to reset the Z and relevel. Start a print and immediately go to setting Z and turn back to zero. Stop print and home printer. Not Z is reset. Heat to 60 go into level move Z and adjust using paper method or shims. Hit Z home to save. Now aux level the 4 corners twice with paper. Level the bed auto level on then turn off after and start a print.

Hi, I have a issue. During auto leveling, or just before starting a printing (during autoleveling as well) the nozzle is crashing with the front x axis frame. I have no idea how to fix this
@toshlarue

Watch my video and reset the Z. Follow the directions for leveling. You need to start a print and turn z to zero. Stop print then Home print. Heat the bed to 60 go into level move z to correct spot hit z Home to save. Then follow my leveing instructions
@toshlarue

I did the same thing when I 1st got the printer. Maybe me grinch because new and jamming in bed. Reason is because the BL touch Z and printer home are out of wack. Just reset it as above and should be good. Key is Z Home saves your z point. Turn off printer for 2 to 5 mine to reset the numbers to zero in level. Reset z you must start print turn zero to zero and Home printer. The Z saves via SD card.

Measuring from the bushing to the bed is ok if you have the silicon springs that you can take measurements from them resting on the bottom with no pressure but with the stock springs you are going to get totally different measurements that adjusting your leadscrews may not fix, I just assembled this printer and its a pain in the arse, why is it you see videos of builds and reviews and they don't seem to have any of these problems if I knew what I know now I wouldn't have bought it, I got it from Amazon and paid over the odds for the assurance of being able to send it back if it is faulty. Those Creality videos are fake they are edited together to show it working, why they can't tell us how they got it working is beyond me after all that was the purpose of the Creality video

The printer is great. I love it now, I just measure bed and print. Another technique Is to take the bed off and move the sides the bed rest on to the top. That way the bed doesn't hit the nozzle when trying to level on the Axis. I stream live alot feel free to drop in and ask stuff. Going to stream today. Any suggestions or tutorials you need?

@@AndrewAHayes mine just sits on the floor no inclosed. I have two ender 3 max that sit on the patio on a table. Patio has one area open to world, gets Cold and hot at time here. The important thing I learned is having a dry box for the filament to set in and feed the machine. So filament stays same as factory and absorbs no moisture or dust. I use dry rice and throw those dry packets in there each filament I get. A inclosed printer is good to keep the printer more clean, but you must make sure there is enough air flow.

No one should ever buy a creality. I bought this printer on Amazon and was sold by creality on Amazon. The bltouch didn't work and the bed is really warped. I sent an email to creality for support with my order number on amazon only to get a generic reply of "you should contact the seller on Amazon and they will help you" I will just return it to Amazon and leave a negative review. Seriously don't waste your time on creality.

Frustrated much? I bought mine on Amazon from comgrow. Everything worked out great. I 1st ordered from the unofficial site that was a nightmare to cancel. I like Amazon you have a 30 day return window easy to return to a kohl's without boxing back up. Had a learning curve but after is a really great machine for $500. They are more like DIY printers you can modify alot. I would just return and reorder
