Hi, I've just bought a piece of tempered glass to the size of my bed, do I need to change offsets to avoid clashing with the clips since it's the exact size of the bed?

I didn't have to change anything to avoid the clips on mine as they are outside the print area. All I did was adjust the z stop.

Hi, I recently change the magnetic bed to a glass bed and I would be lost if wasnt for your video. Thanks for sharing the Information. Cheers from Chile.

Thank you for putting this information together. I used to same settings as yours it turns out better than I had before. Keep up the good work, I want to see what other filaments setting you got for us.

You have any issues with the glass bed sticking to the magnetic adhesive?? Am just about to install this now and chuck the magnetic plate back on top but just wondering if I need to put foil ontop of the magnetic base or just remove it etc

Because of using BL Touch wouldn't need to re-calibrate the print bed :) But fortunately I have zero issues with the default print bed surface. Neither with prints not sticking nor with removing prints when done. All I do is cleaning the bed using window cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

with the Z-axis screw, do you know how high up it is sitting now when compared to the original position?
@amp9438

Hi. On mine the Z stop screw is sitting around 2mm higher now with the glass bed. But I didn't remove the magnetic sticker which I probably will do at some point. Overall I think this will vary depending on the setup, i.e. nozzle length, bed thickness/tension etc.

Maybe you can help me here with my question since I can't get my hotbed leveled in the 16 positions I had setup in my Bugfixed Marlin 2.1.x. version. And it is also a warning for you not to experience the problem I now got! Whatever I try my Z steppermotor keeps pushing my hotbed a bit too far up against my nozzle. And my hotbed is correctly manually leveled with the steppers disabled. My Ender 5 Pro became completely useless although it was entirely and perfectly working upgraded to Bugfixed Marlin 2.1.x version with CR-Touch and with RUNout sensor that all worked fantastic!, until I decided to just remove the glass hotbed plate and replace it with the brandnew Twotrees magnetic plate. Re-Calibrating went perfectly and everything worked fine and an object was nicely printed. But after my Ender 5 Pro(blem) printer's calibration was stored before it was switched off, it behaved very erratic after powering up because the bedleveling didn't work anymore as expected because the Z-bed height was somehow wrong. (Maybe because there apparently is no eeprom file on the SD card anymore after the new firmware was made and installed?). And when trying to adjust the Z-offset the nozzle crashed and also destroyed my brandnew 30 euros Twotrees plate. Nowhere is a correct answer given on how to solve this very annoying Ender 5 Pro problem. Which also started giving E1 heater reset problems while trying to print with PETG filament at 255 degrees Celsius. About 5 days ago before I had replaced the glass Creality plate everything worked without any worries and as a sunshine! Now I became so frustated after hours of trying to solve the issue that I had completely disassembled my useless Creality firmware unsupported Ender5 Pro(blem) printer and had put everything back in its box. And when there is no clear solution to this problem, Creality never will be my 3D printer brand anymore! And I am very sure that many other frustrated Creality Ender 5 Pro buyers encountered the same issue that made them cursing Creality for their extremely bad and useless support! And I know it is not about just setting the Z-offset because that was never a problem, this bed Z height problem is a much bigger problem that seems unsolvable and makes any Creality 3D printer ready for scrapping.

I finally solved the extremely difficult to find Z height bed level problems with my Ender 5 Pro! I noticed that bedleveling only worked when I put a thin about 0.3mm sheet of paper under the probe of my CR-Touch! But just raising the bed with about that height of 0.3mm never helped! But by loosening both screws that hold CR-touch and nozzle fan holder cap and repositioning the CR-touch as low as possible and thightening the screws afterwards completely solved this crazymaking problem! So I never knew but sadly it is possible to mount the CR-Touch a little bit too high after your Ender printer never behaves normal anymore after that!

Sorry to hear you had all these issues. I'm not familiar with the CR-Touch so not sure how the firmware works with that as I'm using the BL-Touch but sounds more like a hardware issue. Glad to here you got it sorted as I know how frustrating it is to get these printers working

Thanks so much, I have some questions. I have just got mine today and have put it on. I have levelled the bed and twisted the bottom z axis thing to the perfect position. Is there anything else I need to do? Also, when I press auto home it hits the bed. Is this supposed to happen? Sorry to be such a hassle. Thanks!

Hi. Sounds like you need to adjust the Z stop screw at the back so the nozzle doesn't hit the bed by triggering the Z stop switch first. Adjust it manually with the machine switched off, i.e. loosen the screw, move the bed up until it hits the Z stop switch and adjust accordingly until the nozzle doesn't hit the bed and the Z stop switch is engaged.

So in conclusion did it help with the first layer adhension compared to the original bed? I also have a ender 5 pro and since i switched to Cura, I've been having trouble with the first layer not sticking properly.
@amp9438

For me I would say so. Overall the adhesion is much better. My prints were lifting during the print with the magnetic bed. It sticks much better on the glass. Also once cooled down the prints come straight off. Using a Z-offset on first layer also helped alot with it sticking despite trying to level the bed many times with a sheet of paper. Without first layer would just lift. Didn't try it on the magnetic bed but might help as well.

I've tried this glass bed and I'm having real issues with prints sticking too hard. With both PETG and PLA, various z heights, temperatures etc. I've tried cooling the bed too, and they still stick so hard it damages the print to remove them. Any ideas what else I could try?

@@jamesrichardson4738 i don't know what the problem could be then, the last thing i can think of is that maybe the bed is to close to the nozzle. Other than that i don't know. But with the flexible magnetic bed it should be easy to remove the print
