The K1C is what the K1 should have been from the start, Im so glad I did not buy one as it took 3 new extruder designs and a new aluminium plate design to get a working machine. I went for the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon and AMS and I am so glad I did, I can just press print and leave it knowing full well I will have a perfect print when it is finished. If it wasn't for the Bambu Lab printers taking part of Crealities market share Creality would never have started fixing the issues in their printers they would have just moved on to the next half baked project.

I think the K1 was good for what it was. I think the K1C is better. Innovation. I'm a fan. I really want a K1C max, though.

I'll tel you the truth, there wasn't a whole lot there in the 3D printing space. Mostly self driving cars and "sustainable" tech. Like projectors. Sustainable projectors. How? I don't know.

the best thing bambulab did for the whole community was force other 3D printer manufacturers to actually innovate. it's ironic that Creality took this challenge with open arms, while prusa is just stirring up drama to defend his lack of innovation.
@3dpprofessor

I wouldn't say Prusa isn't innovating. More that they're innovating in a different direction. I think they're XL tool changer is something the 3D printing world has needed for a while, and I'm glad they're tacking it.
@gorgonbert

My personal view is that in the last few months Prusa have spent a lot of time, effort and money on improving the production capacity in Prag. Now, a lot of that’s done and they can focus on products again. I hope they can come up with some great printers in the near future.

@@gorgonbert Not my view at all. They still use the gimmick of 3d printing parts for their printers. The parts look ugly, and slow down production time. They still design their hardware to purposefully be hard to replicate, completely going against their marketing bs of being open source and haven't released any of the important files for hardware for them to actually make that claim and not be lying. They still are using a funky old version of marlin that makes the actual contribution back to the project very difficult making it pseudo proprietary. Honestly, I have started to see through Prusa's veneer, and I'm not too hot on them.
@kimmotoivanen

@@BeefIngot 3d printed parts is not, and has not been, bottleneck in production. Prusa has been and currently is innovating. Not seeing it is defect in your eyes or more likely in your mindset. Their version of Marlin might not be the easiest to port changes back to Marlin 2.x (it's not difficult either), but it is available for everyone. I believe your _innovator of 2023_ is Bambu Lab. They sure took cheap multicolor printing space like wild fire (pun at A1). What was their contribution to 3d printing community, what did they give back?
@electronicsandewastescrapp7384

What innovation they (bambu)gave was a kick in the butt and it's extremely obvious. Their (prusa)modular farm system and the tool changer is where they spent all of their development time, which is going to hurt them in the consumer space for a year or so. @@kimmotoivanen

@@3dpprofessor which is the trap for a lot of people. Its a "kit" to improve on, but most buying them don't understand they must either have another printer to fix stuff, or extra $$ to make them work properly. I learned the hard way with the CR10 S5 so many yrs ago.. and a few 3 more enders of different breeds.. their price ends up being expensive and time consuming in the long run.
