Pro Tip: To make the cream/mango filling easier to handle, shape cream/mango into balls and freeze for 30 min to one hour. Fresh cream can be frozen and takes 10-15 mins to defrost and turn to its original whipped state. Yummy!

I love your video, understandable, easy to follow instructions and you showed how to steam it in a way that did not use the microwave, which I prefer, plus the instruction on why to tie a towel around the lid was very informative and important. I can't wait to try this, it looks very yummy. Got my mangoes ready!! 😊

They only serve these mango whipped cream mochi at Chinese dim sum restaurants here. I made the dough just now but I used mango juice instead of water so it would look like the restaurant ones. Had to add extra juice/water to get it to your stirring consistency. The dough itself is so tasty! Can't wait for it to cool down to wrap the mango and whipped cream!

I made these tonight with my little sister- very good! I made a strawberry version too. I shaped them by wetting the edges of the dough circle, folding it like a potsticker, and then bunching it together and setting it seam side down.

Never knew the skin of mochi too so much work to make. I may just stick with the store bought ones despite it might being, as you say, worth it. My daughter wished you had titled it "Magnificent Mango Mochi" for the alliteration.

Hi!! Do you let the mochi completely cool down before you add the cream? lol i tried using cream as a filling but it kept melting 😭 i heard that its more difficult to have the mochi stick together if its not warm

Hi, the Mochi needs to cool down :) it is still sticky if you press the mochi. And always keep the cream cool! 😃

Hi, the cooked flour helps prevent the dough from sticking to the glove. Since the Mochi won’t be cooked anymore, it is better to use cooked glutinous flour in this step instead of raw flour
@ellep2290
3 жыл бұрын
Usually when the mochi has been cooked and is to be formed you use either cooked rice flour or corn starch (I'm not sure about tapioca starch) to prevent it from sticking to everything. The cooked flour doesn't go into the mochi dough but is used for "dusting" the cooked dough. If no one cooked their flour their using starch which wouldn't require it being cooked. At least that's what I've learned from watching videos 😄.
