Gratin is a traditional dish of French cuisine. Potato baked in cream and flavoured with cheese and spices is a mouth-watering dish with tender taste. Serve right out of the oven and put gratin on plates at the table. Your family dinner is sure to be a success with this potato gratin.

Ingredients:
• potato - 1,5 kg
• butter - 40 g
• bulb onion - 180 g
• garlic - 3 cloves
• flour - 2 tbsp
• chicken broth or water - 500 ml
• 20% cream - 180 ml
• cheddar cheese - 250 g
• dijon mustard - 2 tsp
• salt (to taste) - 2 tsp
• ground black pepper (to taste) - ½ tsp
• green onion - 10 g
You will need:
• stockpot
• carving board
• baking dish
• pan
Preparation:
1. Cut the potato into dices of 2,5*2,5 cm size, put into the stockpot, pour with cold water, add 1 tsp of salt and cook for 5 minutes after boiling start, then drain.
2. Heat the pan and fry the chopped bulb onion and finely diced garlic over low heat for 3 minutes.
3. Sprinkle the flour and fry for another minute over low heat constantly stirring. Add the broth or water, the cream, ½ tsp of salt, ½ tsp of pepper and simmer for 5 minutes until a bit thick.
4. Add the prepared sauce and 125 g of cheese into the potato and stir neatly.
5. Oil the baking dish and lay out the potato.
6. Preheat oven to 180°C and bake the potato for 35 minutes.
7. Take the dish out of the oven, sprinkle with the cheese (125 g) and bake for 5 minutes more at 180°C until golden brown.
8. Take the creamy potato gratin out of the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onion and serve to the table.
