I'm here a year late trying to learn a little bit about Blender to work on my own 3D projects as a hobbyist and you make this look easy. Speaks to how hard you worked to obtain the necessary knowledge to master Blender tools in order to create whatever you want. That's a great skill set to have! I wish I had these skills to bring forth some amazing VR and augmented reality experiences. I love art but I'm more analytical than creative and so I never really took it serious enough to master the tools years ago. I dabbed with it a bit and now that I'm much older I'm trying to learn as much as I can to see if I can contribute my own ideas into the AI and the digital entertainment space. The only thing I would change about your video format is posting the keys you're pressing so it would be easier to follow along visually. At least mention I'm pressing so and so key to bring up my selection screen ect .. other than that, you make great content. Thanks!

Hey thanks for the long comment and for watching this old breakdown! I encourage you to keep striving for your own creations, getting proficient with Blender is just a small step towards your goals. As to my video format, this video was one of my first and over a year ago and I've made much better videos since. So be sure to check out my latest videos! They're super fun, most of them are short and engaging but give a cool result, and you'll also find valuable extended tutorials linked in some of their descriptions and those show my full process as well the keys and shortcuts I'm using. Best of luck.

You can try to fix the busted rigid body animations by scaling everything larger. Blender has something about the calculations (probably reaching the limits of floating or 32 or whatever system they're using) that makes it work jank at a small scale, like with cloth and collision sims. Great work, love the result!

Cool video. just a tip 1:39 over here I suggest using colourramp before it goes into bump to control it, also plug the colour ramp into roughness, it looks even better then! Hope it helps
@Regoliste
2 жыл бұрын
Ah yes I do already keep that in mind fortunately, in this simple instance the default texture was enough bump to look good, also I specifically avoid the color ramp for that roughness because wood shouldn't be reflecting at all, it is almost always rough but I do that to all the other organic models!

@Regoliste

Hi yeah I modelled the tent myself, its just a red striped plane on a cloth simulation with some edge lines assigned to a vertex group and then using that vertex group in the cloth sim to 'pin' the structure so it hangs in that way on poles.
