Awesome stuff! Here's what I've learned on playing animation in real time even on high poly scenes, on timeline at left, click where it says playback and enlarge the tap, at the top change from (no sync) to (AV-Sync) Blender will automatically play everything in real time by dropping frames as needed to play in real time. Thanks!

To get the text on all 4 sides of the cube it's also fast to select the text object and pick an array modifier disable relative offset and enable an object offset -> the cube along with enabling constant offset to be the width of the cube. Done!

It worked for me with constant offset to be the half of the cubes width.

to all those guys who would say only the first copy of the text is twisting.........after making 3 copies, go to the modifier settings of each of the 3 copies and select the lattice object under the lattice modifier and u can delete the extra copies of lattices if you decide to copy and paste the text layers 😃

Just a tip - If your loop starts at frame 0 (default) - rotaing your object to 360 degrees will get you a doubled frame at the beginning of the loop, which results in an annoying stepping. To avoid this, use 359 degrees of rotation at the last key frame, or start your loop at frame 1.

Tutorial is great, thank you for that, for this way of making this kind of animation with splines and stuff, are one of the simpliest reason why blender won't be on par with C4D or houdini for a the industry (not talking about modeling and traditional animation), the process is destructive, not procedural or even parametric, the amount of polyngons per object is just insane, just image a scene with 100+ elements of this kind, every time i get into blender i really want to get to do stuff but the limit to do big things is really close , hope they make it usable for motion designers one day. Cheers!

If anyone is having an issue with the cube moving all over the page after rotating on the x axis. This is why. You will need to go to center of cube, press shift + left click to place the starter center (crosshair). That way when you create empty it is located properly.

another awesome one, but i have a question. Ducky, I've got everything set up exactly how you have it. I'm currently on the step where we turn down the roughness on the black cube. However, when I turn the roughness all the way down, like you did, instead of the lights giving off a nice smooth, shiny look, the reflections on mine look blocky, jagged, and wrong. If you had to guess, is there any reason why this may be happening? are your eevee render settings different perhaps? sorry for such a long comment. If it helps, I also had to make my three lights like 4 times stronger than the amount you put them at. other than that, i have followed each step (at least i believe) exactly. Any help would be much appreciated. Also, just signed up for the patreon, looking forward to diving into it. Thanks for all the help!

I guess this is just a general blender question, but is it not possible to get rid of the light sources on reflective surfaces (you can see the light planes on the final render)? I'm assuming the only way around it is using a bright ass hdri
