Zone 11 gardening is a challenge, but I’m determined. The whole time I was recovering in the hospital with covid, I was watching gardening and cooking channels. Now that I’m living life 2.0 I’m going for it 😁 Thank you for all your knowledge.

Thank you for another informative video! Your yard looks beautiful!! Where did you get your mulberry tree from? Is it from your local nursery? I'd like to plant one in our backyard after you've mentioned that it is an everbearing and a low maintenance plant. My kind of plant! 😊🌱 God bless! 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for the encouragement! I got the mulberry on Etsy as a plant start. Check there, though we're gonna begin making plant starts available as well soon if you can't find it

Cool concept. We've had much more success buying actual plants mail order or from local nurseries or others separating plants. The bagged plants from the big box stores aren't usually the greatest.

I would put hastas there for a layered look. or gardenias for a smell.

Hey Adam, thanks for joining! More videos are inbound. Content slowed with my dad passing away last year, and a bunch of travel over the past couple months.

Hi there! I love your videos. You mentioned that you are in zone 9Bish. The area looks like Redlands. Is that close to where you are?

Somewhat! Redlands is about 45 minutes east of us

I'm in zone 8a SC and I've tried growing strawberries here and they don't do so well. I think it is way too hot for too long. It gets up into the 90s 100s during the spring and summer. Maybe with shade cloth it would work...

90s shouldn't be a big problem. Did you see any evidence of heat stress? Could be a watering issue? Did you mulch? Strawberries are routinely grown here in 9b/10a

@@TheBusyGardener Probably not enough water contributed to it. I know we had a lot better luck growing delicious juicy strawberries in Newport, RI zone 7a. It rarely was any hotter than the low 80s. I will say that I have yet to see any grower/farmer make available non pesticide sprayed strawberries at a farmers market or any market anywhere in SC and I have lived in the "Low Country" and the "Upstate".

I grow strawberries in Arizona and blueberries with no issues and they are prolific.

I grow them in 8b. I bought "Eversweet" at my local nursery (not a Big Box store). Planted them in October after working mushroom compost into the soil . Laid down pine straw mulch to keep down weeds and hold in moisture. Fertilized as soon as they started blooming in the Spring. They've worked really well the past couple years. Temps routinely hi 90s all summer.

I am in a tropical zone an I grow strawberries and blueberries in an area with morning sun and afternoon shade. I also have blackberries in full sun. Deep watering is key.
