I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Your tutorials have been my most reliable guide as I’ve been learning Blender. Your packaging tutorials, in particular, are the most relevant to what I’m trying to learn, but I pick up great tips from all of your videos. I don’t know if it’s all 3D apps or just Blender, but it is very nuanced and can be painfully tedious to use if you are a beginner like me. However, the structure, order, and cadence of your tutorials seem to really consider those stumbling blocks, and I can attest that they help beginners like me avoid falling into total confusion. They’ve kept me at it. So thank you, trully.

Just discovered the channel and in my opinion it's one of the best to learn Blender. Thank you for the effort

Great content! I did lots of pack shots like this for TV commercials. The interesting part is "localization" by label changes. It's a nice cash machine!

The export UV layout option is an add-on, that comes with Blender, that needs to be enabled in preferences. It might be enabled by default and I just unchecked it at some point in the last 10 years and just kept loading old settings with each new version. I find your tutorials very relaxing and if I just want to do something in Blender on my day off I usually end up following one of your tutorials, even though I've been using Blender for quite awhile as a hobby.

Nice simple modeling approach. I normally model flat from the diecut, thicken and fold using a morph map in Modo. But the UV I would have done one more simply. One in proportionally fit to the uv space and export as eps template for illustrator. Import there and scale to the correct size. A second uv in Modo that scales the uv disproportionately to entirely fill the uv space. The first uv I set to a standard texel density for general texture use, paper foil etc. the second uv is used for the graphics. Simply importing the graphics image which I made correct size and cropped to the trim will automatically fill the mesh perfectly. This maximizes the uv space as well.

This was less a tutorial on package design as it was just a vehicle to show new users various processes in Blender. I've also done a package tutorial starting with a die-line and working from that direction. Many ways to achieve something.

Interesting approach. I always model my packages starting from the flat design itself, converting the cutter guides to faces in Illustrator and exporting to Blender via DXF (which seems to be the best option for having the units converted). Then I fix the texture with a UV generated from the flat shape to it. And then I start folding the sides. But it's important to keep an eye on when to "Correct Face Attributes" or not to not mess up the UV layout. The trick with the plane to fix the UV, that I need to give a try.

Yes, starting with a template is usually best. I did a tutorial on that approach, search my channel for 'die-line'. But this was more about showing a simple-ish box for newer people, to see the various process involved.
