It's crazy how good Camtasia has gotten. It's always been amazing but the recent leveling up of editing features is really taking it to the next level.

Nick Camtasia has been great. it's just soooooo many people underrated it or just think it's only a screen recorder. They make assumptions. Camtasia is a full-fledged VIDEO EDITOR. 90% of my videos are done using Camtasia, and people swear I used Adobe, DaVinci, or Final Cut or something. And the Techsmith folks, whoa! They do some amazing things with it. And there is a creator I follow that uses it, and that dude is amazing. Don't sleep on Camtasia. Also, SnagIt is underestimated. It's not just a Capture Software, I use it to design graphics as well as for capturing text and images. I am an Audiate user as well. I can make audio sound so professional with Audiate. Techsmiith has a powerful set of tools 🔧 that too many creators OVERLOOK.

Oh, wow! I thought I was scaling new heights when I figured out how to use themes and templates to dramatically simplify the production of short lecture videos (almost 4 hours of content last week), but I just realized that I was only strolling in the foothills! That is _way_ cool and surprisingly easy.

Love this. We used both Adobe and Resolve's Magic Mask for the text effects but happy to find a way to do it in Camtasia.

Nice video! But how can we achieve the "text behind" effect on a video that was recorded with real background where removing it is very tricky? One way is to try to use media matte to mask the human bodies and then use animations to make the masks follow the bodies, but if there is a lot of movement this is very time consuming, but not impossible of course. Is there a better way to do it? Thanks a lot in advance!

We did a video a couple of weeks ago on Background Removal Best Practices to make sure your lighting is even so that it separates cleanly. But with a lot of movement and changing lighting, it's going to be tough for the AI background removal to get a clean lock on your subject. kzitem.info/news/bejne/0GOczGuujppzq4Isi=rma07-WHOcEOQ1KW

@@techsmith thanks! Yes I know! That's why I am asking if the effect can be achieved via another path. For example in the clip you saw at the beginning of the video, the guys seem to walk on a real scene, so they probably did it with a different method. Thanks anyway!

As a cantaría owner- is there a step by step guide or book to learn all of these tricks in Camtasia

We've got a whole page of tutorials on our site, but KZitem is a better resource for more "how-to" or "inspriational" type of content, whether it's our channels or users of Camtasia. www.techsmith.com/learn/tutorials/

Let me piggyback on The Techsmith Response. I have owned Camtasia for a looking time now. Their's tutorials are wonderful. HOWEVER, you will not find EVERY TRICK in them. A lot of it comes from YOU using it, and when things come up, YOU FIND A CREATIVE WAY to use Camtasia to get the desired effect. The stuff no one tells you about being a video editor is that you are also a PROBLEM SOLVER. There is no manual that will cover every situation. As you become more familiar and skilled, you will figure out things that even Techsmith hasn't figured out. We learn from them, and they learn from us as well. There are things I do with Camtasia and SnagIt that aren't on a video, and there are many other Camtasia users who can say the same thing. As I tell my assistant, practice and practice some more. Once you master a tool, you will use it beyond its intended use by finding innovative ways to use it. Also, show your stuff to other creators. Iron sharpens Iron and nothing better than another Camtasia user to give you feedback. Non video editors are good to have in your corner, but nothing like another creator sharing tips with you.

After Effects" Can Be Complex". However, if you're familiar with Adobe products you'd probably do this in Premier Pro. No need to send it to After Effects unless the footage is problematic or adding a complex special effect or 2. This is a basic effect. TechSmith shouldn't bash other brands to promote Camtasia. Lets see if they delete my post.

Saying something is going to “be complicated” is a pretty tame comment to say I’m “bashing” other brands. I disagree with your premise. -Andy

@@techsmith That may be fair, however. After Effects is primarily a motion graphics and visual effects software. No one edits entire videos in After Effects, they create special effect videos. You edit videos in Premier Pro. Which has Ultra Key for background removal and Text. After Effects would not be required. Usually, you send short sequences to After Effects from Premier Pros timeline. My 4070 ti Super is currently the 4th most powerful GPU you can buy. It's satisfactory but when I use After Effects, I could use more power. So, when people make are making comparisons to After Effects, which I see on KZitem often. It's not Apples to Apples, or Apples to Oranges. They are so far apart in functionality, they should not be compared with each other.
@techsmith

@@Reeper-x6x no disagreement there. However, I wasn’t saying edit the whole video in AE, I was saying "creating these two effects." I hope that clears up any misunderstanding. In our “Camtasia vs Premiere” comparison video I start it out saying why you WOULD use Premiere. kzitem.info/news/bejne/1KSir3yFr2Reh6g
