I'd really like a full tutorial on the mcad side of the design, either in solidworks or something more affordable because I don't know where to start. The fast forward sections were fun to watch, but I couldn't follow anything of what you were doing to create the enclosure. I know this is an altium channel, but it would really help me to see the other side of the process so I can do it myself.

Can you do a video where the enclosure is designed first, then the board, then the board changes? That is typically what happening and there are some nuances that make it less smooth.

Hi and Nice Video. I got a few question, does the MCAD tool only works with altium 360?. or it can work with regular altium?. And In altium, do you need any add ins for solidworks?. I used both but this is the first time I heard about the Mcad tool in solidworks, I do the export and import of step files in solidworks to create enclosures and back to altium if I need to move a hole or some components. Thanks for this great little tutorial.

How did you make the clear section on the buttons? Looks amazing!
@OriginalCircuit

It's transparent filament in the centre, with black on the outside. The transparent sections are printed slowly with all layers going in the same direction which improves clarity.

This is an awesome example and explanation, thanks for creating it! Question; Do you know of a method to put the step model of the enclosure back into Altium ( to have the 3D representation correct in Altium for the EE guy ), but exclude that model from being pushed to SW?

Yes, in the CoDesigner Ribbon for SolidWorks there is a button to assign the enclosure model.

Haha, yes, yes it is. I was waiting to finish this video before reworking it, because the new microcontroller probably won't have USB so the board shape will change. Probably 2 months before I can present it, maybe 3 since Embedded World is in that timeframe?
