Hello from Greece and sorry for my English. Thanks for the very interesting video you share with us! Question please: When I try to import a font I designed in "Fontself" it gives me the spinning circle "importing" and it gets stuck there.. the letters are not imported.. I didn't have this problem before. What could be going on? Maybe the design I've done by pressing expand at the end is not supported and I have to do something else.. I can't figure out what's going on..
@GDHT

Do you mean you can't install the font on your computer?
@voiotv
Жыл бұрын
@@GDHT Let me explain what I mean (sorry for my english) I created with illustrator a new font. 27 uppercase Greek alphabet. I open the fontself extension and with drag and drop I bring these 27 letters that I designed. Therein lies the problem! It starts the importing process but you never finish!
@GDHT
Жыл бұрын
@@voiotv ok I see! I would try with half the letters first and see if that works, then half of those, etc. Then you can figure out which characters are the problem.

Thank you very much!!!!! I did what you advised me (one letter at a time) and I finally found the error.. In some letters it was not "expanded" THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a way to take a existing .ttc file and edit just one character with this plugin?
@GDHT
Жыл бұрын
Yes, the process would be the same. Type A-Z, then outline and group each letter, including the one with the change. Then make the new font. Be careful that the font you're using allows this kind of modification in the license, though.

hey, can you make a turotial how to make a font layered with Fontself?. thanks
@GDHT

I'm not sure what you mean - do you have an example? I don't think fonts can be layered, actually, but I could be wrong about that (unless you mean color fonts).

can I apply a pattern brush created from a rastor image that was applied to a straight line onto a font ? or do font decorations have to only be vectorized?
@GDHT
Жыл бұрын
You can use raster images but I believe you have to use the Photoshop version of Fontself (not 100% sure though). Raster fonts are also not supported in very many programs, so that's a pretty big drawback. Here's a video about how to do it: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pGxprmmmgIGFaI4

Is there a way to make a font file without using a plugin? (It is impossible for me to install a plugin at work)
@GDHT
2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, but there might be online font creators. All the font-making software I know of is either an external program or an extension/plug-in. Nothing is included in Adobe software in that regard.

You would design your character and use Batch in Fontself. Then assign a keyboard key to that character. Here's another tutorial that might help: kzitem.info/news/bejne/tq1prZyZrXSLnW0

How do I create Tamil(south asian language) font? PLEASE HELP
@GDHT

You would just need to assign a keyboard key to each character. For example, create ஒ then assign 'o' to it (or whichever key makes sense).

@@GDHT Thanks for the quick reply. I understand what you said. Actually there are so many alphabets in Tamil So I am not sure every character can fit inside the standard English template sheet even though i utilize symbols spots. But I Will try your idea.
