I love it! Just curious if maybe sometime, you could do one with yellow as the accent color, a soft yellow, like Rustoleums straw flower, or sumer squash spray paints. I'd like to do my kitchen mostly black/gray but with yellow accents and I've never found an example. Of course I'd do samples before I actually do it but it would be nice to see someone else try that color combo first.

Thanks, Kristine! My tutorials are really geared towards showing different techniques, knowing any colors can be used to create them, especially different accent colors. I think the yellow you speak of would look really cool with those colors. If I create that finish again, I will try that, in the meantime please share your results if/when you do! Thanks for watching, and for your comment! Keith

You're my new favorite. I just love this piece as well as all the others you do. One question, what kind of paint do you use to fog? I live in Colombia and we have no Rustoleum brand.
@kcdcdesigns
6 ай бұрын
Well, thank you so much! Regarding fogging the edges and surface, any type of spray paint should work fine, as it's going to be dry by the time you apply your epoxy. As far as adding accent veins with spray paint, Gloss seems to work the best although, I've also used Satin and Semi-Gloss. But I also know there are some brands of spray paints that don't play well with epoxy, so you may have to experiment when using a brand other than RustOleum. Thank you again for your kind words, I really appreciate it!

Hi Katherine! I really like the heat gun from harbor freight, and not too pricey! Just be sure to wrap the handle and trigger with press-n-seal to keep it from getting sticky :) .

Did you use a gloss top coat or a matte?
@kcdcdesigns
7 ай бұрын
I used the UTC Natural (matte), which really made the colors pop. Gloss, IMO would have created so much glare that it would have been difficult to see the design and details.

How do you avoid dust particles?
@kcdcdesigns
Ай бұрын
I have a studio for pouring epoxy, so that alone limits the dust. But I also apply Stone Coat's Ultimate Top Coat (UTC) to all customer countertops. Since I sand the epoxy surface with 220 grit sandpaper, that smooths out any dust particles, and since UTC is no longer tack after 2-4 hours, less dust gets in it. Thanks for your question, and I hope that helps. Keith

Stacy HELP! I ended up buying some crystals which are like rocks. I tried grinding one using nutribullet but turned to powder:(. How do I make Sole with crystals and what type grinder do you recommend for table salt texture .
@kcdcdesigns
Жыл бұрын
Paul, I think your question ended up on the wrong video, or channel? Although, to address your question you could try a pestle and mortar (google pestle and mortar), it's what I use when grinding herbs and spices and I think may work for you as it allows you to grind only as much as you want.
