Great video and thank you, could you explain how you refer me the buttons and controls in your panel to the Processor input/outputs?

I'm not totally sure what you are asking, but... yhe digital press joins defined in the vtp project (around 4:40) line up with the digital outputs from the touch panel block in SIMPL. Let me know if you still need help

Can this be done without having processor. I just want to have them in my browser without having actual processor. Thanks

I don't know how I missed this for 5 years...but...for the benefit of people watching this video, you do need to have an actual processor to connect to. This will change in the very new future with Crestron's CH5 (HTML5) which has a lot of cool stuff (but also a lot of complexity)...more on CH5 soon!

Great video. Thanks for all the info you've shared. How do you take a smart object like a D pad with lets say a smart object ID of 1 and access the individual buttons there within inside Simpl? I have a crestron app project with a dpad and I want to have in control an apple tv. I've successfully done this with 5 individual buttons in an xpanel web project and it worked but in that case I had 5 digital joins to connect to the apple tv functions. Thanks for your help.

Never mind. I found it. I didn't realize that I needed to refresh the crestron app object in simpl to get the device extender smart objects to appear. Thanks again for your videos, they've helped me a lot.

Ben Tomlinson The other cool thing about smart objects is that when you name them in VTPro-e and link them up in your Simpl file, the name caries across. This can also include some button names in the case of a keypad (*/# can be renamed).

Thanks. I hadn't thought about that but I can see how that would be handy especially if you have several objects in different subpages trying to keep them all straight.

Is there a way to assign a visibility join to a smart object like a dpad? Thanks.

Ben Tomlinson I don't believe you can directly assign a visibility join to an object...but you can easily put the object on a transparent subpage that is sized just to fit the object. Then use the subpage display join as your "visibility" join. You just need to make sure you drag the subpage onto each of the pages that might display it. *tip: after putting the subpage onto the first page and assigning a join number, if you copy/paste it will also copy the join number.
