@@maddiehad I've seen some promos and features or whatever. Regardless, I thought the movie looked amazing. Even if it's been done 1000 times for some reason it's not done often in feature films and it fit this movie perfectly. This style was new to me as apparently it was to many people. Everything in film is chosen for your particular project be it type of film, framerate, coloring, etc. I appreciate the choices made if they fit the project and don't hate on a project when it gets praise for being well done just because someone else has used a similar style before.

With this style it could really be a modern version of a Studio Ghibli animation. The only thing to be done to this scene to make it more real (more Ghibli like) is if the traveler would run energetically into the train while the conductor happily waves at her while she does.

Love your attention to world detail. those 3 leafs flying, shadow on the train. Thought I would add a little bit of distortion to the cell shading on the train. and ad like couple of % of some waterpaint overlay on top of it so it would look more like hand drawn rather that 3D model. Still just me. work looks amazing.

You mention using picture as reference, can one drag and drop a photo into Cinema 4d and "trace" the objects in the photo and construct a 3d version of them in the C4D plane? In other words, taking a 2d representation into C4d, and from it creating a 3d version using a tracing or over-lapping technique? TY

you could have added turbulent noise with 0.2 px and another one with 0,5 px on the train layer in aftereffects and a boxblur of maybe 0,1 to 0,2 px, very subtle but it gives 3´d renders a bit of life (at least when animated at 12 fps ) the train is now moving with 24 fps so maybe tone it down a bit more , but the ultra sterile look of the 3d can be enhanced a bit .. when cars go around a corner this works really great
