Diabolo is a yoyo but the rope is not attached to it, to perform tricks they use separete rope attached to two stics instead

Really beautiful turning! I have two suggestions, though. If your interior turning tool rest were hollow you could introduce controllable air flow through it to minimize dust build up. Probably need a very low flow rate to reduce visual chaos. And, light your finished product from the inside to show it's wall thickness and translucency. Very cool video, Thanks!

Well, not a diabolo in my book.... I did do some juggling, but a nice hollow form. If I was going to make one that I could actually play with, it would have to be end grain. Nice piece of ash though.

I know it’s not a diabolo. I make « diabolo like » shapes, but I call them « let the sunshine in »😂. I don’t even remember why I chose this name for these forms many years ago

Supposedly the name had two possible origins. One was from a Greek term that means 'to toss across', and the other was supposedly from Marco Polo who bought them back from China, and the first time he saw them, he said 'how the devil do you do that?'. I do tend to take things literally....

Le mien etait en panne alors là j’alternais entre dremel Foredom et une meuleuse pneumatique. Mais normalement j’utilise les outils Moviluty (movix et flexxi)

In addition to a beautiful shape in its own right, a diabolo is a juggling prop that is twirled on a string something like a yo-yo, often making a sound. Ultimate origin is China.
