So great. I almost cried. Instead, I shared it across social channels...such as Twitter and Facebook and Tumblr and KZitem - all culminating in a huge 400,000x ROI and several trillion in earned media. But the best part? I'm crying now.

sort of want to buy this little 3-D printed QR code. Maybe this object should be given as an award for the stupidest, most convoluted 'tech ideas' of the year. Like a Darwin award for advertising, though they'd probably have to give away so many...

MakerDrone Yes, I'd love the file. Great work! But wait - does that mean I'm actually being awarded the Darwin QR Code Award for the stupidest, most convoluted 'tech idea' of the year? Well, I suppose I could be eligible to win it for the Wrist Grill - though it's just spec and not for a client. I just wanted some mini prawns... temporaryorbit.tumblr.com/post/86976144574/bbq-wrist-grill-prototype-1b-aluminum-alloy

Emerging technology is not a submarine bobbing out of the water, what’s missing here is a healthy dose of augmented reality, I think you need to catch a cab up to the rest of us! Light speed or not! Oh BTW nice work. #toteshilair

And clients themselves fall their own dupes, such as buying to some 'agency brand names'. even when the engines and all parts have been changed out multiple times. What this little film does is just take what many people have been frustrated with and put it into a great little story that makes the point. Basically, it nails the brief :-)

Hey Justin, I'm the guy who strapped the Mojo to the side - inspired by Vivid Light Festival in Sydney at the moment. Had to perform some tricky board surgery after it met with one of the props during a trial run. I loved how it responded to the noise of the motors. Cheers, Ian

This is probably how it goes in most agencies. I think they can improve on their story if they add Arduino and RaspberryPi to the mix :)

Actually you get even more mileage by adding and APM 2.5, Mojo FPGA with visualiser shield, a strobe light, 3 GoPros and not one but two Pixy (CMUcam5)s ;)

While it's great to see an agency like this with the oversight to see how much crap there in s the industry today, the scary truth is this is so close to the bone and so representative of the fact that 98% of this is actually what agencies are saying. It almost fails Poe's law.

The real conference call where they described what they wanted was almost as funny as what you see in the video. I'm going to be posting the real making of the technical bits in the next couple of weeks. Biggest thing I learned was that story trumps the tech.

Advertising agencies can poke fun at themselves all they like. And yeah, I guess it ameliorates their soul a little to show the world they're aware of the bullshit treadmill they have to walk every day, but when you're working on real clients briefs, Your still living in a joke, it's just that it's not funny. That's why I got out of advertising, earn half as much, but am on much better terms with my integrity.
