I’m really glad that article includes Brendan’s feelings about it. He goes into how he feels violated, and we need to seriously step up how we view and support men who are sexually assaulted. Imagine waking up to an old creepy face in a hotel room at night doing this to you. This horror stuff writes itself Edit: During the Las Vegas shooting Stephen Paddock supposedly expent 3000+ rounds of ammunition over the course of ten minutes from 27 AR-15's with bumpstocks despite the facts that it would have required him to drop a gun after each 30 round magazine was empty, even though videos from survivors show that it was a nonstop stream of ammunition with a firing rate much higher than a bumpstock is capable of producing from multiple locations that appear to be M240 LMG's. More interesting is the fact that after the FBI took over the investigation, his house somehow burned down with all of the evidence, and photos of the hotel room he shot from only show 50 spent shells. Years later we still have no motivation, and there was strangely no follow up on the biggest mass shooting in US history. Most confusing is that the day after his brother had numerous press interviews where he claimed it made no sense, he was arrested for possessing several hundred terabytes of child porn on a 20 year old computer running Windows 95, at least according to the photos taken by the FBI.

None of the hotels or resorts I’ve worked at has ever done any type of background checks and I’ve worked at a few high end resorts. @@timtim6373 that never happened at any of the resorts I worked at but they were also bigger resorts and we had rooms booked a year in advance so to book the whole resort someone would have to book 2 years ahead and pay in full for the resort to risk something like that. Now we did have people book entire floors, that was pretty common and yes I saw the aftermaths of some pretty "wild" parties. Surprisingly most of the "rock stars" that stayed were pretty laid back and chill. We had a "rock star" from like the 70s that performed and stayed at the resort who was a disgusting rude pig. We also had football players from an NFL team pretty regularly. Some were really nice, some weren't. Usually "rich" guests were the worst and "average working class" guests were the nicest and cleanest.

This happened to me too lol but instead of whispering it was touch. I was asleep on the floor at school and my friend was tapping my head to wake me up and in my dream I was in class and the teacher went up behind me and tapped my head so my dream self thought she was asking me to recite so I raised my hand. When I woke up to my friend staring at me I saw that my hand was raised and I told her about my dream she told me she was tapping my head and that she thought I was asking her for more sleep time because I raised my hand. A similar incident was when we fell asleep on my couch and she said she woke up at 2 am to me sitting up and staring at her and she asked if I wanted to stay up and watch Netflix but apparently I just stared at her and laughed then went back to bed. I have no recollection of that and she finds it funny.

I thought this was weird because why wouldn't you just go when you have to. So I said was gonna shower, he goes in the bathroom, comes out, and when I go in I look around and he had his phone in a tissue box with a hole poked through it trying to record me. The whole "manslaughter" thing gets so much creepier with the details. It was reported that Neal fired multiple rounds into his roommate with a gun. How is that even Manslaughter. that's just straight up murder. It was also reported by the police that in a recorded statement given by the police, "Neal could be heard giggling". So he's not even remotely sorry he killed his roommate. He's also served more than 5 years in prison. The fact that this deranged man managed to get a high position in the Hilton Hotel really makes it seem like they don't give a shit.
@spitsson

As someone who has worked at the Hilton hotel in the EU for years, I can confirm how difficult it is to get the job there, especially for the Manager position The background checks are mandatory and are very extensive, at least they are supposed to be. Any convictions would essentially mean that you don't get the job Also, the wacky situations like this are surprisingly frequent, at least at the hotel where I worked at. However 99% of the time those situation occur between guests, not involving the staff members

I think the issue here is that if did his crimes somewhere else like another state there is a chance background checks missed that. I know someone who is an alcoholic but quit alcohol and while he was struggling with it. He got a dui, but luckily nobody was hurt. He was still able to get a job and it wasn’t caught on the background check because he did the crime in a city about 5hours away

When it comes to influencing someone’s dreams I actually learned in psychology that if you fall asleep while listening to music then that music could also be in the dreams you have. So it is quite possible to get someone to project whatever it is you continually whisper in their ear as they sleep into their dreams

The real problem with that is somehow staying asleep while someone is whispering to you. I had no problem sleeping while they were literally building a condo block next door to me, I'd wake up to the sound of a jackhammer and realize that they had been doing that for hours already. But when I was younger, instead of having an alarm clock, my mom would just wake me up by talking to me before she went to work. She would speak super softly from the other side of my door and just tell me to wake up and somehow it always did wake me up simply because my brain realized that she was speaking to me and that I should pay attention. Unless you're hammered, this shouldn't work or, at least, I know it wouldn't work with me.

Can confirm that this works. I usually sleep while having videos on autoplay in the background. And i can tell you as a lucid dreamer, the amount of confusion i get when i hear a youtube video while dreaming is bizzare af. It feels as if someone is talking to you, but at the same time no one is there, and the people inside the dream dont talk like that. It's kinda like as if the video becomes background noise for the dream. So I assume with music it's the same, but as a background soundtrack.

I’ve actually sort of tested that whispering dream idea as my mother was sleeping one time, and I was talking sorta loudly and she told me later on that day that in her dream she could hear me talking about something but couldn’t make out what it was but he dream still stayed the same. It was like having random audio overlayed onto of a different video.
