Company is good but not for experience drivers. Out there are better companies they pay more and give you more miles. Unless you don’t care living in your truck because you are happy with $1k a week.
@truckingwithcrete

Hello Jesus, yea, they are a lot of companies out there. Believe me, I always keep my eyes open. Some of those companies that pay more cpm are 1099 with no benefits, so at the end of the year, you have to pay your taxes. I make about 1,800 every week, and that's net after taxes and health insurance. Plus, I have profit sharing and scholarships for my kids and safety bonuses, so yes, I'm happy for now. Until I get my own truck.

@@truckingwithcrete I appreciate your time in responding me. But still making less money, because you said your paycheck is $1800 after taxes, I’m making $2200 after taxes and we’re doing the same job as OTR drivers . Like I say if I’m going to be away from family and friends then I shouldn’t be making less than $2000 dollars because there are companies they pay you $1600 just for regionals loads and every night home. But I’m not judging you, if you feel happy there then may God keep blessing you. I used to work for Crete and I never make more than $1300 after taxes that’s why I decided to quit but the company is one of the best for new drivers.

@IamjesusnotGod that's pretty good, Jesus. So, are you a company driver now, or do you own your truck? And if you don't mind asking where you work

@@truckingwithcrete Yes I’m company driver and I’m driving for AAM network. There’s more companies like Eurokam and Puma Logistics they are pretty good ones but they require minimum two years of OTR experience.

@IamjesusnotGod nice I have 6 years driving otr. But anything that is 1099, I stay away from it, especially if those companies are located in Illinois.

Do you get to pick your truck at Crete? Also, how many nights do you drive?
@truckingwithcrete
3 ай бұрын
If there is a lot of inventory available, you might be able to pick between Kenworth and Freightliner. As far as nights go, you can choose whether you drive at night or during the day, but that's only if you do dry. If you do refrigerated, you will likely be driving more nights.
